Adam
Is it just me or is this deal only an increase of a year as he was already signed until 2011??? Great news that commited to the club though
Bill
It might be because he will be approaching 30 in 2012, and they only offer one year contracts to 30 year olds. Maybe.
Everton_Worshiper
Is it just me or is this deal only an increase of a year as he was already signed until 2011??? Great news that commited to the club though Yeah but the extra year would mean an extra £4m (or so) in transfer fee if someone was to bid for him
Adam
True didn't think of it that way but also guessing we going to be paying around an extra 4m in the 4 years he here in increase in wages. Still good though that he is happy enough to stay at the club with reports during the trasnfer window that the Arse and Man U are after him
Everton_Worshiper
Yeah, Bill and co are also being quite clever in getting the young players to commit to Everton during such a high in the season - do you think Cahill, Lescott etc would be so willing to sign new long term contracts if we were in Newcastle's shoes? Whatever the motivation, this is the best bit of news for a while from Everton...and shows it is not just us the fans being optimistic! Romey 1878
Great news. Hopefully he can be moved back to central defence soon too.
