If we talk about playing ability, then yes, a lot of Man City's players could hold a 1st team place.

If we talk about all attributes of the player, then no they couldn't walk into our 1st team. (Abebayour is Yakubu style lazy.)

 

For example, Bridge would have a very hard job to shift Baines from left back.

Richards would not be placed ahead of Lescott.

Given would not instantly replace Howard.

 

The only player I would have in an instant (i.e. no hesitation) from City's current team is Ireland. The rest would be great luxuries should we have the funds to afford them and European football to give them (well 1 out of 2 ain't bad).

I've been biting my tongue over this one but i've had enough. I have worked in Manchester for five years now and have a lot of mates who are United and City fans. The thing that hits me the most is that the City fan that keeps coming on this web site is indicative of how arrogant and smug the City fans have become. I used to have a soft spot for City because i felt they were a club like ours. They had great fans that supported them when the times were bad (like leeds are doing now) and they had been through the mill just like ourselves and years of shite and dross to watch. At the start of the buy out i was quite pleased for them because although i knew it would make our situation more difficult to challenge for honours i thought that it would kick the premiership up the arse and give the Shite a bit of a scare. I also was quite pleased for the lads who i knew who are genuine football fans who knew the game and always had a laugh about Citys innability to be conistent in anyway apart from being inconsistent. However this prick who comes on our website belittling the work Moysie and the players have done in the last seven years and dismissing us as nothing more than a stepping stone to City finishing higher than fifth is nothing more than a cancer that is killing the game.

 

Lets deal with the facts eh? you say City are not inflating the market but it is Man Utd's for selling Ronaldo for 80 million? So your telling me if you had the chance you wouldn't have bought Ronaldo for 80 million? Of course you would because you would have taken great delight to rub Uniteds nose in it because City are so rich. But here's the problem the Ronaldo's, Terry's and Kaka's of this world are NEVER coming to City because the Top players look at you as a JOKE! And here's the kicker my friend because of the way you and the rest of your lot who have turned into horrible, arrogant, smug and crass fans the rest of the football world look at you and either laugh or smile to themselves and shake their heads because a once respected club and set of fans has lost their way and become a parody of themselves. Yes, you should finish top five because the amount of money you have spent demands that but for the hundred million you have spent i would say you have bought averagely. SWP, Zabelta, Ireland, Barry would get into our team straight away TBH. The rest would be luxaries which we could do without. Basically C.T.I.D, the modesty you started with in your earlier posts seems to have disappeared in recent posts. Its understandable you will want to get defensive of your team, but don't let it cloud your judgments and take over your comments. There are fans of every team that think they are the greatest team in the world and that they are going to win everything under the sun - everton are no different - but, in 'reality', I would say that the majority of evertonians are expecting a 4th/5th/6th/7th ot 8th place finish next year, whereas it seems city fans think they are gonna win the prem, fa cup, league cup, europa cup.....no wait, thats not right .... I think the best comparison we have of a club making shed loads of 'big signings' is at real madrid - im very interested to see how they fair in a league that is as competitive as the SPL. Does anyone think they will win La liga, champs league, copa del rey just because they have ronaldo and kaka??? And don't forget, what effect/success squad tinkering has (see Ranieri and 'Manuel' Benitez)

Mate i am C.T.I.D. but i was banned from posting for standing my ground. So i had to re-register in a different name. I always started off respectfuly. I just like chating to fans of other clubs. But of course no one here will even slightly agree with a city point of view at this moment in time. Which is fair enough. But there is so much bile spewd with it. And of course you will find those in every thread (quite a lot in fact) who are quite simply fuming mad and just rip into you. All i was guilty of was defending myself. Remember the Ronaldo "will he or won't he go to Real Madrid" last summer, what a comlete bore that was. Same now with Lescott - he's a good player and for that reason I'd love him to stay. However, I actually want him to go (and have done for about 3 weeks now) because the money on offer is good and the whole story is so damn boring that I can't stand readind about it anymore. If we cling onto him this time, then the links are going to start in the press again from about November and go on through part of January until you get him.

 

I am really glad that our game this week was postponed (through our game in a European competition, not your friendly though!) as the bile that would have come out would have been ridiculous.

 

Now write that cheque for £20m and lets all move on.

If you go over my posts. And i mean really start at the begining of every post i start off with and go over them. Not just by clicking on my profile, but finding where i joined a thread and following it you will find they are ALL very civil, level headed posts, Until some body who is angry with the way things are going down regards City and Everton, will come along and either say something with a large chunk of snide in thier (which i take as banter and offer up some of my own) or they simply go on a rude nasty rant. To which i "would" responed to in kind. Until i was told i was not alowed to give back in equal measure. So now i choose to try and ignore such antagonistic posts.

can we get to some facts about leaking things to media? i think both clubs are guilty of that we didnt release facts of the bid, everton did in refusing them and weve made statements.. but what i want to know and more than likely you do too... SOMEONE SOMEWHERE inside everton fc IS talking to us.. do you not think? do you think we would waste so much time if no meant no? i actually believe moyse doesnt want to sell but i think kenwright does..this has gone on way too long, personally id have pulled the plug after 18 mill was refused, yet today we hear again a swap is on offer petrov who for me is a moody git and wont do you any good, dunne well nuff said and possibly jo any of those and cash...1 way or another i think BOTH sets of fans have been lied to on this..theres stuff obviously going on and its gone on too long..im hearing on here and elsewhere you want 30 mill? seriously? he isnt worth that and we all know it..offer 18 mill plus 1 of those 3 if its refused move on bcoz theres better out there and time thius was done and dusted either way

I think you will find that HE IS NOT FOR SALE as stated by EVERYONE at Everton..... If you offer silly money to good to refuse then more fool you....... keep on offering and at some point They may just say.... YES

I wouldn't be quite so sure DM. Knowing how shady transfer dealings are in this country I wouldn't be at all surprised if City have had some encouragement and then the media releases are just to manage the PR side of it.

Otherwise, we'd have already spent some of the alleged transfer kitty on the targets that were (allegedly!!) identified months ago.

this is what i and a lot of your fans i talk to supsect, if it was a nailed on no why have we done a valuation on lescotts medical condition? something we need your permission for? why was tevez`s agent sat behind kenwright at your game at the weekend? so much going on we know nothing about yet, intersting post on our forum i shall include in this and this guy is very accurate

 

 

On Topic - Nothing new to add other than fee is being discussed, valuation we gave was not 100 miles away from that given by Everton so talks continue, there should be an answer by Thursday. Other than that I don't know anymore
