Conor McAleny

Can he make the McAlaney position his own?

A one year deal doesn't sound like the club are confident about him though.

In contrast.. Barkley was offered a three year (two and a half year) contract, the maximum allowed for the age group.

  • 5 months later...

He looked good when he came on, but why wasn't it Vellios? You know, our leading goalscorer who has a knack of coming off the bench to score...

Unless he was injured (splinter in his arse maybe? Scalded by half-time tea? Can't have been hurt at 3.00 or he'd not have been on the bench) that's the bigger mystery than the mindless first sub.

If you think really hard u could understand his decisions haha

For example he subbed in distin for saha because he wanted someone to win more headers which would be fellaini but he wanted to maintain the defensive strength. For mcaleny i think he wanted to use speed to be able to get to fellaini and trouble the slow defenders like mertasacker and koscielny.

But Fellaini isn't very good at winning headers despite his height!

You may have noticed that he has an Irish surname, he's said he'd like to play for Ireland but it's not possible as he doesn't meet FIFA's requirements, (it is his great grandparents who are Irish, had it been his grandparents then he'd be eligible for Ireland).

Hopefully he'll prove a decent enough player to merit a senior team call-up in the future.. be it Ireland or England

The majority of people born in Liverpool have 'Irish blood' and should be allowed to play for them. Liverpool should be an independent state or even a part of Wales. England is just on the post-code, the proofs in our grandparents surnames the majority of scousers will have 2 grandparents with Irish surnames, one with a Welsh surname then a toss up between English or Scottish.

Strong views!

We get takin for granted and pissed all over by the media and small minded s*n reading typical English. Talent per capita in Liverpool must be one of the highest in the world, should have more power and respect to reflect that but i'm straying even further off topic than usual so shall digress for now. This Conor looks good, doesn't he?
