Got to be run by RS fans:

This is their 'sarcastic' synopsis of the EFC financial results:

Rooney provides massive profit on transfers

Everton have announced via the exuberant Dominc King in the Liverpool Echo that the operating company's financial results for the last season show substantial improvements in both turnover (up from from £44.7M to £60M) and income from player transfers (up from a previous loss of £15.4M to a staggering £23.5M profit — thanks in the main to the sale of the best prospect ever developed though the Everton Academy, a certain Wayne Rooney. However, the operating profit before player transfers is just £100k!!! CEO Keith Wyness is looking forward to the upcoming AGM on 24 November.

ITS A DISGRACE - once again, they edit what they want you to read - Failed to mention that the Echo article says that all of the Rooney money was given back to Moyes and the club reduced its debt from 44m to 27m.

I FUCKING HATE THAT SITE!

Above is your synopsis of the article in the Echo regarding EFC’s financial position.

Once again, you have managed to put a negative spin on something positive coming from the club. I question whether you are actual supporters of the club or whether you take enjoyment from pulling down everything that they do.

If you care to read the article, it clearly states that the money from Rooney was given back to moyes to spend. It also shows that a sizeable chunk of the club’s debt was paid off – putting us in a much safer financial position.

Infact the paragraph below, taken from the article, sums up our performance since Keith Wyness joined the club:

Profits before player trading this year stand at £0.1m, which may not seem a great amount but it is only when a comparison with 12 months ago - when there was a loss of £17m - that it shows how much progress has been made. From being technically insolvent, they are now operating in the black.

It is not a paragraph that sarcastic comment can be produced from. We did only make a £100k profit overall but that is weighed up against a £17m loss the year before. So surely the actual profit stands at £17.1m as the deficit has to be made up somehow.

The board has done a good job this time – love them or loathe them, even the editors at Toffeeweb can’t deny that this is a great piece of news for all associated with Everton Football Club.

Such phenomenal progress should also ensure Everton have a place for the first time in the renowned Deloitte and Touche top 20 that defines the richest clubs in the world by turnover as last year Aston Villa came 20th with a figure of £55m.

– again something that you failed to mention in your synopsis of the Echo Article!

It’s about time that toffeeweb started to be positive about the club it supposedly supports. I am all for the airing of views and opinions but not everything has to have a negative tone!

Its good news. What do they want to hear

You can read between the lines as much as you want, but let not knock ourselves when we dont need to. In order to be successful on the pitch we need to be successful off it and vise versa
