No. His first touch is slightly better (only slightly) than Rom's but he has no pace. He is not brilliant in the air for a big lad. He has improved under Monk this season. Last season he used to lumber about the field at little more than walking pace, easy to defend against. This season he is working harder and actually breaking into a run. He is a goal poacher and a lot of his goals are from within the six yard box. He is very strong and defenders find it difficult to knock him off the ball. Good Championship player, don't think he would crack it in the Premiership.

He's already looked out of his depth in this league for West Brom and Leicester so a big NO from me.

He's another Rhodes, Gestede, Gayle, McCormack, Nugent etc who looks great in the Championship but that's their top level.

fixed it for you c1982 :Grammar Police:

Did someone read Btay's post and then make a rumour up?!

Haha I'm clearly running the papers. I'd have him. People wanted Austin with bang average knees because he's a goal scoring option, so is this lad. 15m is a bit steep for what I'd want to pay though.

Woods had a better season for Leeds last season. The season before he was nowhere near being Premiership material, but last season he worked harder, found a little bit of pace (faster than his jog previously). For a big lad he is not good in the air and most of his goals are 'poached' inside the six yard box. Big unit though (typical Kiwi) and does put himself about a bit. I think he will be a bench player for Burnley, coming on for Vokes in the last 20 minutes and filling in when Vokes is injured.

I saw Wood coming on for Newcastle earlier and it dawned on me that we’d probably be better off now if we’d signed him in 2017 when we were linked… he probably wouldn’t have been our main striker all the time but at least he’d have been a ‘reliable’ option. After this realisation I made myself a refreshing bleach cocktail and feel much better again now.
