http://www.evertonfc...-statement.html

The Greggs have sold their shares and have resigned from the board, the question we need to ask is who are BCR Sports and is this the start of a takeover bid?

I dont know how many shares they had but theyve sold them all. Maybe they are refusing to comment because it is to do with a takeover. The no comment bit was what lead me to believe that in the first place, but who knows with Everton.

Makes me think that we are either so paranoid as to see stuff that aint there, or we want an influx of cash so badly we are prepared to see stuff that ain't there.

A paranoid romantic, that what being an Evertonian is all about. :D

According to the Daily Mail....

The deal is believed to have seen Gregg get back the 7.2million he paid for 23% of the club's 35,000 shares which he owned jointly with his wife.

Deal was supposed brokered by BK and the new investors are behind him.

This deal sees Bill Kenwright, if not directly, effectively increasing his shareholding, and power, in Everton Football Club. :(

It'll only be good news if the new people can provide serious cash for Moyes to spend, if that happens then I will accept having BK as chairman. If not then I will continue to want BK out of the club.

Fair comment Mark, but my concerns are more based around the fact the Silly Billy now has a greater say in how our club is run, he may well be a theatrical impresario, but IMO he is still a publicity hungry c*nt.

This is from the Daily Mail

Everton owner Bill Kenwright has finally won his two-year battle to oust rival Paul Gregg from the Goodison Park board.

The Barclays Premiership club have announced that Gregg and his wife Anita - who was also on the board - have sold their shares to BCR Sports. Everton will not reveal the names of the people behind BCR Sports, but the deal has been brokered by Kenwright,

A source at the club said: "The people involved are fully supportive of the current chairman and the management of the club. Bill will be able to go to this weekend's match at home to Sheffield United relieved that he has won this battle, and he will be able to relax."

The deal is believed to have seen Gregg get back the 7.2million he paid for 23% of the club's 35,000 shares which he owned jointly with his wife.

Gregg and Kenwright were involved in a spectacular fall-out just over two years ago after forming a group, True Blue Holdings, to run the club.

Kenwright and fellow director John Woods owned over 50% of the shares between them, and as a partnership were always able to outvote Gregg on the board.

The row over the future of the club erupted in the summer of 2004 and started a power struggle between Kenwright and Gregg, who wanted to take over control of the club.

He famously made a speech on the steps of Goodison Park calling for Kenwright to resign.

There has been an uneasy truce since then, with rumours of boardroom rows over expenditure and boss David Moyes' transfer targets

Cracking post mate, cleared up a few things for me, but I don't think this is over yet. Enough people had come to the end of their tether with BK and I feel this "consolidation of his position" will only serve to alienate more Evertonians.

Paul Gregg, Everton's second largest shareholder, has sold his 23 per cent stake in the club to BCR Sports for around 7m. Everton will not reveal the names of the people behind BCR Sports but reports last night suggested Robert Earl, the casino and leisure entrepreneur, who founded the Planet Hollywood chain of restaurants, is behind the transaction.

The deal has been brokered by Bill Kenwright, the club's chairman and majority shareholder and should Earl be involved he would be expected to help provide funds for the club.
Kenwright and Gregg bought out former owner Peter Johnson in 2000 only for the pair to fall out once the proposed stadium move to the King's Dock collapsed. Since then Gregg has been keen to recoup the money he invested into Everton.

The deal will be welcomed by Kenwright, who has found Gregg an obstacle to his plans for the club, who are looking at building a new stadium out of Liverpool in Kirkby.

gregg sold about a quarter of the club for 7 mill. that values Everton at about 30 mill, give or take.

robert earl, the rumoured buyer, a brit who lives in the usa he founded planet hollywood and the hardrock cafe and has an estimated worth of $200 mill.

he is in the process of opening his first planet hollywood resort in america so he is keeping busy, dont know how much time, interest or money, he has for Everton.

time will tell!

Good article here in the Telegraph. I assume he's going to invest in the club, (players/new ground), otherwise what's the point of him buying Gregg's stake?

Sources close to Everton have said he isnt going to be investing any money himself, it was purely to help BK out. FFS what was the point if the club arent getting anything out of the deal apart from keeping that skint prick at the helm. We will never move forward if we dont get serious investment

hmmm not too sure what to make of it. he's clearly keen to bring in his franchise of restaurants and casino's to the club which could obviously make the club some money but weather i really want to see a new stadium built as some big complex with all that shite around it.

we'll really just have to wait and see but i see it as probably being a very good thing financially but certainly they'll be some rather questionable marketing moves and other similar things coming up.

i guess stalone turning up to our matchs could only enhance the clubs image which is a possitive thing. not that i particularly want us to be a club that the stars come along too.

interesting stuff

we should sign howard up so yank fans will have someone they will know,

without having players with big ego's this kinda thing could improve the club sooo much.

"Welcome To Planet Hollywood Stadia, Kirkby Budweiser now at 2 a pint!"

i could live with that if berry alba willis stallone ferrel stiller vaughan gibson and co turn up at Everton. not cruise though, no scientolgy bollox around here my friend.

i think we have to be looking into this guys business knowledge, i hope he plays a major role to be honest. he was once bankrupt, and less than a decade later hes worth over 200m again, this fella can make money, and with his contacts he can enhance our image. im all for having a casino and a planet hollywood as part of a new stadium venture, its all potential cash for the club.

and if we want to keep them yanks happy then maybe he could bring freddy adu over here?
