Hello Martin, watching Phil Neville and Andy Johnson start against Israel got me thinking - when was the last time England started a competitive game with two Everton players? Greg Dawkins MARTIN SAYS: As far as I can tell Greg, we haven't seen two Everton players line up competitively for England since their final game of the European Championship finals in 1988 in Germany. They lost 3-0 to what was then known as the USSR and Dave Watson, Trevor Steven and Gary Stevens all started. The last time we saw two Everton players in the same England side in any game before Saturday in Tel Aviv came in 1989, when Tony Cottee and Trevor Steven played in the side which beat Scotland 2-0 at Hampden Park.
