Romey 1878
Just seen this on bluekipper so i thought id let everyone see it Been told by a certain High profile Tesco person today, that we will be having a Tesco Person on to the board very shortly. Also the Kirkby site for the ground is the favoured one as it will also have shops, bars, bowling etc inc a Tesco. Tesco have had a huge input into this and will become more involved with everthing to do with the club, costs, etc. The new guy in question is based in London at the moment and is good friends with Bill, but is from this area and a also an Evertonian, I have no idea if its true or anything

L_Blue
I dont think bluekipper is very reliable, I mean have you seen their exclusive (not photoshopped at all) picture of Andy Johnson in the 'new away kit'?

I assume the Tesco person they are referring to is Terry Leahy who is the Chief Exec (I think) and scouser/Evertonian. Some may remember BK was trying to get him to invest around just before the Fortress Sport fiasco but TL said he would only join on an advisory sense. Seems he turned Teso's fortunes around quite swiftly and he is a millionaire so guess it can't do any harm!!
StevO
Seems very unlikely tbh 29498 very wrong im affraid! this guy has been working with Everton for a few years, as stated, in an advisory role. you see Everton never really have anyone with pulling power to help them stand up against local governments etc... like when we were denied planning on stanley park and liverpool were accepted, he was the guy who approached the local government on our behalf. this fella knows business, its just a shame he doesnt want to own a football club! rowlo-efc
Just wish one of tescos trolleys would run BK over and let someone else have a go. 29490 The tesco guy is already a big investor in the club anyway. Having him on the board will make no difference whatsoever! Just heard a rumour that United have done a deal with us over Cahill - reportedly worth around £9m... if he goes, were doomed. Pat
Yes mr Leahy as mentioned has been a peripheral advisor for sometime. I also have it on good authority that Everton Football Club's modern alliance/history with the Tesco corporation is set to soon be furthered. Yes & under the tutelage of one Mr Angel, one Francis Jeffers it seems does have future prospects after all..............

java2001e
if weve got tescos on board i expect to see a change of sponsorship and maybe a little more cash coming in, especially if they have a guy on the board. they will want to be associated with a successful club and theyve got the cash to create that success. we live in interesting times! KillaGTiR
Everton in talks on stadium move The last plans to move from Goodison Park collapsed in 2003 Everton Football Club is in talks about a potential move out of Liverpool into a new stadium in Kirkby. The club has identified a site near the town centre to build a 55,000-seater ground as part of a development of shops, a hotel and supermarket. The club needs to increase capacity and improve its corporate facilities and cannot do that at Goodison Park. Knowsley Council has confirmed it is in talks to include a stadium in plans for the site off Cherryfield Drive. An Everton spokeswoman said the club was making no comment. Kirkby is one of a number of options being considered by Everton for a potential new stadium Knowsley Council spokesperson But Knowsley Council confirmed that Kirkby was being considered as an alternative to Goodison Park. "We are in the early stages of discussion with Tesco regarding a potential leisure and retail development close to Kirkby town centre," a spokesperson said. "The development has the potential to incorporate a new stadium for Everton Football Club. Kirkby is one of a number of options being considered by Everton for a potential new stadium. "The council welcomes the opportunity to discuss a development that could be of great benefit to the Kirkby community and contribute to the ongoing regeneration of Merseyside."
