....if You Know Your History

Recommended Posts

Just my opinion but I really don't like this song. I know EFC are one of the oldest and most revered clubs in the premiership and this is reflected in the lyrics, but to me it just seems a bit twee - I can't help thinking of George Formby whenever I hear it :-(

It's a shame we don't have an anthem that identifies us as a club like "You'll never walk alone" does for Liverpool.

That being said, Z Cars still makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up whenever I hear it!

I'd be interested to know what you all think.

I have to disagree with what you say about YNWA reminds me of celtic and a film called Oklahoma

Z Cars is our itentifiable anthem, always has always will

(well apart from the time when some arse thought it would be clever to replace it with 2 unlimited) JESUS WEPT

Count me in i'l have a word with me kid bro and we'll see if we can kick it off first day as we are rite in the middle of the main group at the back in the middle. That would go down in history as one of the best shouts at Goodison for a long time :D

I like Grand old team i think its the other songs we let ourselves down singing "one verse Everton", when skies are grey is one that we could repeat over and over but we do that nah nah nah thing at the end

I long for the day when we can all sing a long rousing song, as much as i hate YNWA they sound good singing it and the fields of Analfield road sounds quality too.

If anyone comes up with good songs (I'm poo at making them up) i'l teach them to the lads and try and get them started at the game but its hard introducing a new song. I'v been trying to get a new Arteta song going all season but the home lads just wont sing it even though its sung on all the coaches at away games.

Follow, follow, follow, Everton is the team to follow,

'cos theres nobody better than Micky Arteta,

He's the best little spaniard we kno-oo-oow :D

Got it set as my ringtone, and it was recognised in Darlington town centre by a Darlo Blue.

LOL that reminds me Mac of the time I walked into Tanners with me Everton top on, some guy sitting near the front said as I walked past "Its a grand old team to play for". Probably thinking I was some Darlo Blue who had never been a game.

And when I came past him again, I unfortunately never sang the next bit as I would have felt a bit of a divvy but did laugh and look at him to say I know what your on about.

That song was aimed at puffs in the city centre and was meant to be youl never w@nk alone as Jerry was a puff!!! It was nowhere near as good as our 1985 effort of "Here we go" how funny is it to see John Bailey,Andy Gray and co in those horrific grey tracksuits singing like a pile of dickheads

Here we go,

Here we go,

Here we go.

Everton are the best, we all know.

We're the team,

We're supreme,

Number one.

And we love you E-ver-ton!

Inspirational! :D

I've got that on 7" somewhere I think.
