Bafana Blue
I can not understand why we seem to be linked with right sided midfield players like Brett Emerton when we have more than enough cover in that position. Andy Van Der Meyde is naturally suited to playing on the right wing and to write him off after one season is a joke! Was not long ago many of you on this site were unhappy with the performances of Nuno Valente now he is on the verge of playing in a world cup final and looked better then Ashley Cole the other night! We also have Leon Osman who I feel is far more influential on the right of midfield than when he plays in the middle of the park. Arteta is also right footed and has been superb when asked to play outwide. In addition to those 3 both Lee Carsley and Simon Davies have played on the right of midfield in the past. Compare that abundance of options with the left of midfield where the only naturally left footed option we have is Kilbane. He is far too slow for the premiership and should be used as no more than cover in this position if we are serious about creating more chances for our strikers. I feel that Moyes should be looking at bringing in either Boa Morte or Van der Vaart to play on the left. Both are top quality players and luckily neither have been given much of an opportunity to shine at the world cup and therefore their price tags will not be inflated. Add Maniche to one of those two, plus what we already have in the likes of Arteta, Cahill, VDM and our midfield will be one of the strongest in the premiership! GoldfishMemory
We are not being linked with right sided midfielders as far as i can see! Brett Emerton is a utility wide player who can play full back or midfield on either the left or right. You are correct with your assesment that killa is the weak link and we should be looking at replacing him the downside being we proberbly dont have much cash left. The Emerton thing comes from this because he is a relativly cheap player who can play in several positions. I am unsure if its the right move but the cash aint there for either Boa Morte or Van der Vaart IMO.
Moyski
I think Kilbane will spend nearly all season on the bench, if things go ok with VDM, this will; be his last season..
Adams
agree unless we bring in a LM better than VDM then he will start wich means kilbane on bench

Bafana Blue
I stand correted but as far as I can remember Van Der Vaart plays for hamburg and Maniche was at Dynamo Moscow until coming to Chelsea midway through last season. Surely Everton are on a level par with those 2 clubs in the minds of any aspiring footballer. It comes back to the point I have made several time on this site that we need to forget about overpriced average English players and spread our net wider to going after better priced international players. And you see how Premiership managers generally plunder their own countries for under rated talent, I think we come up short with a Scottish man at the helm. CraccerC
1. VDM's best position if left 2. Arteta may have played well there but it isn't his position 3. WHy not stregnthen the squad, osman is nothing special, davies need to improve a lot

scouse
Most managers have failed in the international market, Wenger, Benethus, Fery even Moriniho and at a greater expense to us that for sure

Bluetrip
My point was Moyes transfer record is questionable. He has made some good signings, he's also made some bad. The players I listed were all failures to some degree or another. The Kroldrup fiasco was a defining point, to lose millions on a player and send him back within the same season is poor judgement and it cost us. Van der Meyde has so far been a major failure there's no two ways about it. You have actually agreed with three of the players I've listed so how can you say you dont see the point. Moyes had little to no pulling power in the European transfer market which leaves us paying top dollar for home grown market.
