erm its close to call,

you can argue that we have more attacking options, but will be play to them, moyes likes his defensive play, and our midfield isn't defensively good enough i don't think, we'll still be under a lot of pressure and probably conceed as many as we score, don't expect a change in 1-0 wins and the odd heavy loss

Why not, a new central defense partnership, a jazzed up attack. If you can keep a clean sheet and sneak a cheeky goal, thats how we nearly got into the Champs League.

well for starters i can see any prem defense wanting to play against a front 2 of AJ and BT

and with lots of teams rotating there strikers i believe they will start every game barring injury (touch wood) and should hopefully have a good partnership

at the back love hibbo he is great but would mind a bit of world class defending at right back to be honest but i hope he has a great season again

LES and JOEY as 2 centre halves apart from the the couple of top clubs i cant think of a good central defensive pairing

finally midfield over run with players (ok maybe not on the left)

LM arteta/killa/mcfadden/VDM/neville (nev if were desperate)

RM ossie/arteta/VDM/mcfadden/davies

CM arteta/cahill/neville/davies/ossie/carsley

so dont think we will be to shabby so should concede less and hopefully score more

yeah, the midfield is well populated. have to wonder why we bought so many when a striker was so obviously needed?

carsley is good in midfield but will he get a game nowadays?

weve gotta few youngsters in the first team squad now, like vaughn, anichebe, boyle and hughes. it will be interesting to see if they get much action.

Do you ever have anything positive to say about the club you say you support? If we are that shit and you feel the need to put us down with every post why bother calling yourself an Evertonian?

^yes it has, but that won't stop us getting outplayed a lot of the time, the midfield isn't difference, theres no1 protecting the defence

Outplayed?

Our midfield was the only shining light throughout last season, dont forget it was the same midfield that got us 4th in the league the season before!

Our weakness last year was a dodgey keeper & 2 aging centre backs past their best. Yes we need a holding midfielder to help us dig in but we have a better midfield that the group of teams who finished above us last year.

midfield is highly overrated, everytiem i saw us the mid was non existant, we played long balls from the back a lto of the tiem because otr midfield has no skill, bar arteta

thank you for reminding me of the fortunate 4th palce finish, incidently ur forgetting carsley and gravesen, so no it isn't the same midfield, at all

That's what my post was about, 20 clean sheets would be nice, and with Howard and a new, potentially strong central defensive partnership, why shouldn't people hope.

C'mon Craccer, we are Evertonians, and hope is our credo.
