Bit Of Money Saved

I've been thinking recently about what an option we've got for a striker in the shape of Victor Anichebe. His goal at the end of last season was a quality goal and another two the other day, it looks promising. I think he will feature more and hopefully he can get into the team, I like seeing young players coming through the academy and plus we would have saved shelling out 5mil plus for another striker :D .

Everybody is talking about BT and AJ but I think Anichebe could make an impact this season, big, strong and committed...our new Dunc :D

as i've said before i think, I'd like to see him coming off the bench fairly frequently this season and I don't think it will take long to displace mcfadden from the 3rd striker spot.

hopefully the more he develops the more a place he can get. while he'll probably not Take the first team spot if he can develop and prove himself throughout the season he could well get into a position where he can earn a spot whenever one of the first 2 is injured or not fully fit (god forbid suspended!). And even as a bit of rotation if one drops form a little.

Hopefully Vaughan can come back to, I feel sorry for the lad, having broken the age records he gets an injury that’s set him back a year so far and he’s still not fit. I just hope he does get fit and gets another chance as it’s such a shame to see a talent go to waste at such a young age.

They (Everton) are expecting things from him this season saying that he is nearly ready for the step up to be in the senior squad all the time.

Think the only way he will get on bench to begin with is if McFadden is starting on the wing other wise think he will be first choice back up for BT and AJ

Nigerian

but he's lived his whole life in north liverpool.

so if he turned out to be a gem he could play for nigeria or england as he was born there but has lived here for over 4 years without appering for his country, its confusing as am i now

I think it may be 5 years in a country not & if they haven't played for there country they can play for the country they have lived in. I remember that paulo di canio could have played for england I think it was

Personally, I would like the guy to pin his colours to the England mast, my reason you ask?, one phrase.............

The African Cup Of F*cking Nations.

The biggest ballache for Prem clubs since Monday night football.

IMHO.

Mark, I have always found internationals to be a double edged sword, you want your own players to do well, but not at the cost of losing a key player at an important time.

As far as I'm concerned the fewer international players the better.

Next club v country issue will be the Asian Cup. ( Tim Cahill)

Australia have only become a part of the Asian fed since Jan 1. They have to play I think 2 group stages before finals.

Australia was locked in to Oceania for the last 40 yrs & only played 2 meaningfull games every 4 years.

That will jump to 6-10 a yr some seasons.

SOme of the fixtures fall on FIFA dates others dont..with think a FIFa date fixture coming up after 3-4 weeks ( yes derby time) of the new season ahaed.

My only lingering concern veesavee poss probs between TC & The Club

So in the hypothetical sense it would more advantageous if Victor was to be English rather Than Nigerian in a club perspective.

He truely is a young talented player.

I hope that Everton have learnt lessons after the Rooney episode. Yes, we earnt a millions of pounds, but I honestly feel it set us back when we sold.

Whilst on holiday recently, I saw brief interview with Victor. Everything he said was translated into foreign langauge, however you could just make out what he was saying in English. He seems to be dedicated to Evertonian (although we all remember a certain sh1tbag saying 'Once a Blue....) but he seems educated, well aligned and focused on reaching a regular first team place.

I hope we can bring Victor through the ranks to a regular first team player, and hopefully he will be more of a gentleman, and honour the club who founded him.

We can only live in hope.

;)
