Although Betamax missed out in domestic video it was used for some years in the pro field as the first sensibly priced digital sound carrier in conjunction with the Sony F1 system. Vastly superior to VHS in my professional opinion. Far more versatile and much less prone to drop-out...think I might have one for sale somewhere if you're interested . (Deftly back onto topic) loved that game, listened to it on the radio and had several heart attacks. Enjoyed the replay more though! Bill Posted July 31, 2006 Report Share Posted July 31, 2006 (edited) Early version of Video Cassette Recorders, both were in production until one bought out the other and decided just to manufacture one (VHS), which in turn Made all Betamax Tapes and Players Obsolete. I remember when satalite TV was a new invention from America and CD's were on tomorrows world with a young carol vorderman telling us we would be able to buy them in a year or so.
