Willo
Is it just me or are there less and less youngsters wearing the sh!te of red and opting for the Blue ????? Round Seaforth way and when venturing into town i used to see quite alot of RS shirts ( less than the Blue ones at least ) but lately all i see is Blue . The RS are on the decline and with the signing of Dirk Shuyte ( in irish ) they have taken another expensive step backwards . Its gonna be a long trek but we are much stronger and a much better side than i've seen in years . Come on you Blues and lets watch the RS drown in thier own ASBO HOODIE Bellamy / Pennant filth . xavier
This squad has been our best squad in quite a long, long while. Im fairly confident as well.
scouse
Bellend and Pennant i must say were good signing for you but as willow said Dirk whats his face doent look the best at 9 million IMO
xavier
You cant judge a player on just a couple of world cup appearances can you? He got no chances because Robben and Van Persie wanted to walk the ball into the net instead of putting in crosses. His record at Feyenoord is excellent. He is a hard worker and good in the air. Im quite happy anyways. I pronounce his name as 'cowt' because 'kite' gives you guys a nice rhyme to deride him. Crouch, Bellers, Fowler and Kuijt. Surely we have the ugliest strikeforce in the premiership. Edited August 19, 2006 by xavier

xavier
Erm... Van Nistelrooy and Berkgamp had excellent records there though. What does that argument prove? Absolutely nothing. Kuyt's chances of being the next dutch goalscoring machine are probably as much as him being the next dutch flop. Cant take Kezmans, Nistelrooys, or any other players example to try to prove whether he'd be successful or not. His goalscoring record in Holland in excellent, something that cannot be argued. Whether he can cut it in the premiership can, but im quite certain that he can. His strength and work rate will make him succesful here but thats just an opinion. L_Blue
All grudges aside I think Kuyt's record looks pretty good and I think Benitez has made some good signing generally so he will have done his homework. I do think they have a strong squad and probly one of the best in the prem much as I hate to say it. I think some people are just saying Kuyt is crap just cos he has now signed for Liverpool, 10m isn't that much in todays climate when you consider what utd paid for Carrick and what they may pay for Hargreaves. I dislike Liverpool as much as anyone else and would love to see all of their new players flop but it just seems to me that sometimes people here just slag someone off because they have signed for a rival club, I think if Kuyt had signed for us people would be singing his praises. Mac
Good post L, much as I dislike them b*stards, they are strong contenders to challenge Chelski this year. Once again I say, b*stards. ATB Mac

There is nothing about him that will frighten most Premiership defenders methinks and can see him getting off loaded next year for a nominal fee . Romey 1878
Challengers for the title? When they play shite against Sheffield United, bring on the derby I say.
Mac
I see what your saying Mark, but to be honest with you, I'm not looking forward to Sheff U away. From the reports I heard RS were not exactly playing well. Maybe they should have played Crouch from the start. ATB Mac
Romey 1878
I know Mac but 'title contenders' should be able to grind out results against teams like Sheff U.
xavier
Aye, we were pretty poor. Rafa's tactics were suspect and he clearly had one eye on the CL qualifier game while deciding the squad for this one. But we clearly were unlucky when Riise and Carra had to go off injured in the first half, fucking up our subs for later, big time. Im not too unhappy though, playing a promoted team away from home was always going to be tough. Although we dominated the match, dont think we 'deserved' a point, im not complaining though. Xav, spot on there with the one eye on CL, Riise is a big loss to you, I almost feel sorry for the ginger b*stard. ATB Mac

Just a twisted ankle. looked like a break when i saw it for the first time though. Might miss the Haifa game but Aurelio should be good cover at left back. Mac
I thought sprains took a good few weeks to heal properly, good luck to him. It was his left ankle though, wasn't it?. ATB Mac
