xsaint
Liverpool has been crying foul and will cry foul as they lost 3-0 to the mighty blues.More of sour grapes then sportmanship. They have the refree to blame now i suppose. But look at the game, each and every foul went their way eventhough we were supprised at his dicisions for we thought we won the ball fairly.I could have easily thought the ref was in their favor.... ho yea,the penalty? Our defender was already sliding on the ground when the ball hit him.Is it a penalty? He did not stop the ball or the direction of the ball intentionally. As i said,he was already sliding on the ground,it seems its more of a ball to hand then hand to ball.Verdict:Penalty? Kiss my (_!_) !!.... And some fraction claim their defender gifted the goals to us.Ho please wake up, the sight of AJ and our midfield made their defender piss on the pants.Made them nervous and stupid and our pace + their lack of skills made them make those mistakes. Its not as if their defenders made the mistakes delibrately.Verdict? We forced the liverpool defence to show their true lack of quality and stupidity....So we deserve to capitalise at their stupidity..... Common reds, Time to wear a skirt and shut ur (_!_) up! We deserve the 3-0 !! we were better as a team, we were better than you lots in terms of passion and unity and the desire to win... vedict: Everton FC 3-0 RS .....no change! The better team in Liverpool won!!! CHEERS! Edited September 10, 2006 by xsaint
thebluenose
i saw the incident on MOTD. yes the ball hit hibberts hand but his intentions was to slide the ball out of play so in my view it was ball to hand. i do find it stupid that some RS supporters say liverpoll was bias toawrds us. classic. i listened to the game and even john aldrige said that poll was on thier side. the fans booed him for every free kick he gave to them and cheered when we got a decision our way. xsaint
Too bad even the ref was not able to save the RS with his usual sending off of Everton Players! Credit to our players! we did well..we deserve the victory!

Romey 1878
The thing that pisses me off is Liverpool fans say we make excuses when we lose to them, but what the fuck do they think they're doing now? 'The ref was in your pocket, we should have had two pens, our defence gifted you goals'. Nobheads the lot of them.
Danish_Reg
i say good on grahem poll. it was never penalty and it was never a handball. hibberts hand didnt even touch the ball. i dont know why the gobshits are crying for. Willo
I've got to say it was a penalty IMO and had it been the other way round we'd be screaming our head off for the spot kick aswell , fair enough there wasn't all that much Hibbert could have done but it wasn't like the ball was blasted at him or nothing it just rolled slowly onto his arm . But that was one of the very few decisions that went our way on the day , Poll had a shocker ( including the penalty that should have been ). Too many decisions went Liverpools way because their players went to ground to easy when an Everton player clearly won the ball . Also every time Yobo or Lescott beat Crouch in the air Poll decided the lankster must have been fouled ( started to remind me of every time Big Dunc jumped for a ball and was penalised because he won it ) and i think this is down to the fact that way too many people believe that if Beanpole is beaten in the air it has to be a foul because someone of his size should not be beaten in the air , no one seems to take into account that although he is massivly tall he doesn't actually jump for headers . Overall we still won 3-0 without the help of the referee and had the penalty been given and the RS scored we'd have won 3-1 in essance . Pat
Yeh we got nothing out of Poll until really late. I too would have been screaming if was the other way, accidental but seen em given. 2nd half Poll had to blow the pea, espec with Arteta being fouled every time he skinned 1 of them. Adams
It was one of them pens wat would have been harsh to give but understanable if given

The ball clearly hit Hibbo's left arm, but there was no intent so I would say justice was done. ATB Mac

If his arm was pulled into his side (and not being used as a brake to stop him sliding off the pitch) - it would still have hit his body/arm. because it hits him around his armpit - and that would never be given....would it? Anyone remember Watford... But its a case of, would the shite have scored - I'm afraid not. Which is probably why G Poll never gave the penalty - i mean, this is the same referee that waved his fist in the air at the derby last year when Stevie Me scored... It was only an even game when Riise went off - then it was 11 v 11 - not 11 v 12.... The RS can come up with every excuse in the book- fact is this...3-0 to the blue half. Bill
Hear Hear. Sheer grit and determination goes a long way to winning games, and its about time the RedS realised that Referees have to play fair this season or chance being Demoted. So they have to stop looking for favours from the Refs like they have had in the past, and learn to live with it. RedS were second best on the day, so except it and move on. If crouch gets 8 or 9 it will be a good return, AJ should get close to 20. I would go back and stipulate league goals only tho. Licker.
