Vranny reacted to Formby in Longest Thread For Sport Talk
I stand corrected. His dart shop and club are in St Helens!
Having been to St Helens, though, I'm still a bit worried about what they're putting in the water.

If this was last year I'd have thought you were referring to shots....🤦♂️

Vranny reacted to MikeO in Sean Dyche
Ya think?
a) He spent hours mulling over fan produced content before coming round to their point of view.
or
b) He watched the players in training every day and decided, all by himself, that Branthwaite was the better choice.

He'll have more playing time with us.
He'll have less psychological trauma with them.

Vranny reacted to Shukes in Wilfried Gnonto
You know these transfers that other clubs have completed recently have been going for months right?
They haven’t just called up and said can we have x, and the other club say yes. These same transfers have been going on at other clubs for months because they do their due diligence.
We just don’t follow those clubs forums, so we don’t see it updated non stop.

A left footed left winger as well. Maybe the plan is to have him cutting in from the right (if we’re actually linked to him). I definitely don’t see McNeil playing anywhere other than the left of midfield from now on, after our attempts to force him onto the right wing last season.

We don't quite know how to react to positivity. It breeds suspicion.

Vranny reacted to Matt Tiger in Wilfried Gnonto
If we could get Gnoto, Chermiti, and another depth striker ready to contribute this season in I'll be legitimately confused. Addressing needs while pursuing players for the future would be odd indeed.

Atalanta have also finished 5th, 8th, 3rd, 3rd & 3rd in their last five seasons. That might also have something to do with it.

England have nothing to prove they where beaten by the weather not better cricket from the Aussies and poor sportsmanship in the 2nd Test.

Can’t believe we’re getting 57 for him. That’s great business. Brought for 1.5m and sold for 62m
They say our board are useless, yet they are making 73m profit on this one.
Its like James wages all over again.

I remember my first child. Brings tears to my eyes thinking about it.
Its the day all my dreams and aspirations ended.

Only one way to make sure that curse returns. Get him in a blue shirt, and straight into the physio room.

If there's ever a nuclear war all that will be left are the cockroaches and Kenwright.

Vranny reacted to Shukes in Tom Davies
Don’t think he let us down, just don’t think he is good enough for the level.
But for me, he kept his mouth shut, worked hard for EITC, and did what he could when he got on the pitch.
Plenty of players I would criticise before him for effort and application. You can only do what your talent allows you.
I mean Bailey you’re a great guy, but you are useless when it comes to football knowledge…. Yet you try your best!
Haha you know I’m only joking mate. Wouldn’t do it if I didn’t think you had a sense of humour.

Vranny reacted to Matt in Dele
I really didn't want to change, I wanted to be dead in separate 2 periods of my life. It took a seizure from a panic attack to put me in hospital and then I was watched like a hawk. Daily follow ups and sessions for months, then eventually it became "voluntary" because I'd upset my wife so much I forced myself out of guilt, not a desire to improve. It was a slog but I was forced through it (therapy). Insomnia, drink, stress, unreal expectations from work, friends and family... all the little things combine and before you know it there's pills like zolpidem and antidepressants that make things worse than ever to the point I started drinking with the sleeping pills in the hope I wouldn't wake up.
It got easier when I stopped drinking 2.5 years ago, but there's still a daily fight in my head to not just keep walking into the sea. Sobriety makes it easier to resist but it's still there and my last attempt at therapy (CBT) was a waste of time. Its not a question of not listening, it's not getting the right feedback.
So apologies if I'm a bit defensive over depression, everyone. When I see people quoting "hes got the money, resource, etc", you show that you simply do not understand what depression does and actually means. You may think you do, but chances are you don't. Depression doesn't care about money or fame, it's not respectful of status or skin colour. If it gets its roots in you, it's as stubborn as a weed that keeps coming back despite you pulling it out from the stem. Depression is fucking ruthless and determined.

I disagree - as far as back-up keepers go, I think he’s spot-on.

Iwobi is obviously one of the better players in our squad, and he also isn't very good. Can we just settle on that?

Vranny reacted to Fosse Captain in Demarai Gray
In fairness he's probably been one of the best value transfers we've had for a while.
Is he amazing? nope
could he stop trying to beat 3 players every time? yes
But for less than £2 million, he's scored a few goals in the hardest league in the world, in a shit team, and played out of position too.
Wish he would be more direct and beat his man (just the once) as he has the pace and ability to put defenders on the back foot. Much like ASM at Newcastle. Problem is he's also like ASM in that he's incredibly inconsistent to the point of infuriating.
Worth keeping, and its not like there's an orderly queue being formed anyway, so a moot point
