  1. this, canada, is why the rest of the world dont give a crap about your country. im pretty sure everton were there for preseason fitness and not the money.
  2. if you dont like doom and gloom, maybe everton aren't the club for you. we live for this shit!
  3. i think your dont get it mate. downing might not be as good a left winger as ashley young, but its no good just having 11 players. look around villas squad, when all fit they have downing young milner and agbonlahor who can play on the wings. they can use more than one formation. they are expanding their squad with players that are proven in the premier league. they also have a small squad, i think for 10m downing will be a good long term signing for them. but like others i dont rate him, but thats a good price in todays market and he is a good player.
  4. the biggest scam since the moon landing! classic stuff!
  5. as much as i love timmmy and dunc, they should not be anywhere near the list of greats! from dixie, the holy trinity, young, hickson, labby and more, all of whom ive never witnessed, but won things at this club, i dont think any player in the last 20 years can come close (big nev the exception). but as mike said, dixie should walk it, and rightly so! edit; looking at some other clubs, luis garcia is on there for the rs! wigans has baines and matt jackson!
  6. i see ustoffee22 is our first blind member, currently using louis pioneering techniques in Braille web design as part of the latest upgrade.
  7. breaking news!!! - adpom is trying to buy everton!
  8. he definitely came to talk to us and had a good look around finch farm.
  9. if the club have known about him for a while you would think they would have decided before the end of last season if they were gunna try to sign him. doesnt seem very organised to me.
  10. the club has come so far over the last seven years, getting back to where we were before the bad days of the 90's. we've all come far with the club, we've watched players come and go, board members come and go, we've won derbies, we've lost derbies. we've pushed fiorentina to the brink of a brilliant come back only to be kicked back down by a penalty shoot out, we had a great day out against united at wembley, we've had a bad day out against chelsea. we've heard parents and relatives telling us what the good old days were like. we dont want to go back to the final days of the season (some of my worst childhood memories are being sat in goodison with my old man on the final days praying for the right result) we want to see this progress continue, i for one can not imagine going back to them days. im enjoying being at the right end of things. the thought of a second year without spending a penny to improve the squad worries me. im not even sure where im going with this, im just thinking about good and bad days ive gone through as a blue, and im not ready to go back. rant over, i think.
  11. i think just to be safe, without improving, im with Moyes. we need a centre half and a left back. then we'll have cover all over the pitch (pretty much) but if we want to improve we still need a centre half and a left back, but we'll need better quality players where ever we can get them, but the right hand side would logically be first choice for replacements. im a bit disappointed that nothing has really happened yet. moyes complained that the money wasnt there until late last year, im only assuming were in a similar position now. hes said where he wants to strengthen, id hope he knows what players he wants by now. if he does have the money there and knows what players he wants, i dont understand why he hasnt got them yet. im not going to complain right now, but if we dont have cover by august 15th i'll be worrying, if we dont by 1st September i'll be calling for heads to roll. not david moyes as i dont believe it will be his fault if we dont strengthen. after all, its two years since we actually spent any money on players.
  12. seriously though, he does keep saying he's looking for investment. he doesnt say hes looking for a buyer. i hope the next twist in this will be a more public one "we want to buy everton football club" would be nice. but that would then be followed by bill saying "oh no they dont"
  13. he looks pretty big in that pic! i know soccer is taken very seriously at college level in the US, so this could be revolutionary of moyes to start picking them up. getting them when they are 21, by the time they are 24 they could be very good quality players.
  14. merged the onouha and lescott thread, three pages of lescott discussion on the onouha thread.
  15. i looked up on google whats going on, and looking at this picture i dont see the problem. if im wrong, someone pelase inform me, but this looks quite tidy.
  16. id be made up, he was showing a lot of potential at barca. He needs to leave the southern grave yard asap
  17. he was still working for the club back then at least. Keith harris must be looking for investors under the couch, other clubs have found them! Or maybe its because they want investment, bk never mentions selling the club, just someone to pay for his little fairy tale to last a bit longer. If i had billions i'd buy the club, but i wouldnt be giving money to someone like bk
  18. not as futuristic as made out, but its tidy
  19. is considering his options.

  20. the board says i should say hello.

    erm, hello.

  21. got to ask, why can even notts county get a take over and everton ...................
  22. i rate him highly, but you have to think, thats the sort of money liverpool paid for torres. not even in the same league!
  23. im always scared to get my hopes up with these stories. read into that what you will, but if its true, i gather a few things. they find the kirkby plans interesting, but they want a football village. well that cant mean kirkby is appealing, as the surrounding retail park will not be a football village and is there to make a profit for tesco, not EFC. if they want a football village they would have to start again, i imagine, somewhere else. im trying not to see that with a tinted view as im anti kirkby, but from a business sense, there is no scope for profit for the football club or its owner. maybe all my dreams will come true and walton will become the football village and GP will be rebuilt to the highest spec i can imagine and the team is built up in to moyes dreams. edit: the echo kills off my dreams http://www.liverpooldailypost.co.uk/everton-fc/everton-fc-news/2009/07/22/everton-fc-deny-takeover-rumours-from-united-arab-emirates-92534-24219840/
