Cornish Steve got a reaction from Hafnia in Nottingham Forest (Home) 21st April
Just for the record, there was no sarcasm intended whatsoever. What I wrote, I meant quite literally - and thank you for recognizing that and taking it that way.

Cornish Steve got a reaction from Matt in Beto
It takes time for many to adjust to the pace and physicality of the Premier League. We expect foreign players to simply jump in, and some are able to do so, but others take time. I would expect Beto to steadily improve and, if we're patient, he could become a major asset.

As horrible as it was games like the Chelsea can happen, which is why I didn't subscribe the the opinion that that game showed the manager has lost the players like some had. However, if we'd put in another abject showing like that again today then I would definitely have started to lean more in that direction. If you can't get up after a roasting like that and show what you're about then it's a lost cause.
Fortunately, the players did respond and they didn't look like a set of players that have give up on the manager. They fought hard for everything, just like they did against Burnley.
I thought there was more quality and cohesion to our play than there was against Burnley though. That was a slog and a half but we had some really good passages of play today where we created openings, and I thought we were the better team on the whole.
That's not to say we were brilliant by any stretch of the imagination, we weren't, but it wasn't a smash and grab and we weren't gifted anything. We earned those three points and deserved them.
We probably did get away with at least one penalty, but the amount of ones that we've not gotten ourselves this season means I don't give a fuck. That feeling only increases because of how fucking horrible their fans are. I hope they get relegated.
Pickford - Add another top class save to his highlight reel.
Young - Got away with a few penalty shouts but generally I thought he was fine.
Tarkowski - Had a bit of a nightmare when in possession but when it came to clearing the ball with his fat head he was great.
Branthwaite - I can only assume him stepping out of the defensive line to meet the attacker is part of the plan but it made me very nervous about the space he left behind him! Apart from that, though, he was fanatastic.
Mykolenko - Could have offered more offensively for me but defensively he was very good. Often he was left on his own defending because McNeil was off elsewhere.
Harrison - Another one that could do better going forward but even that was better than it had before he was taken out of the side. Really worked hard for the team today as well, which goes a long way.
Gana - Absolutely outstanding. Tackling, harrying, hustling, intercepting, taking the ball up the pitch, scoring from outside the area (what the actual fuck?!). MOTM by some distance.
Doucoure - I was very underwhelmed with him. His effort and work rate were much better than they have been recently, which is great for us, but on the ball he was very sloppy.
McNeil - Until he scored (cracking goal by the way) I thought he was having another poor game tbh, but once he got that goal he came alive and then could have had another one.
Gomes - If he hadn't gone off then he'd have been pushing Gana for MOTM for me. I thought he stood out like a sore thumb because he was comfortable with the ball, taking the ball under pressure, and then being able to pass it to a team mate.
DCL - He worked his bollocks off for the side. Didn't get many chances in the game but he really should have been hitting the target with the one he had in the second half.

I’m so glad you were very wrong. I’m sure you are, too.

Cornish Steve got a reaction from Matt in Trump all over again
I'm still hoping he'll announce at the last minute that he's stepping down and his party appoints a sensible alternative.
In the meantime, anticipating the flood of Trump supporters from out of state who'll come knocking on my door to canvas support, I'm ordering an 'Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez for president' baseball cap and an 'E. Jean Carroll for vice-president' T-shirt to wear when I greet them.

There needs to be a thorough government audit of the Premier League since it appears to be a hive of corruption, deceit, and double standards. They'll probably plead the same defense as did the NFL in the US, that they're an entertainment organization that can do as they please, but that's not how the fans see it. It's become a complete and utter farce.

The same way he felt last week, I would imagine.

It is a complete farce and fiasco. And still City get away with massive financial violations. The fact that two point deductions are applied in the same season ought to mean a legal challenge is warranted.

Premier league pushed for 5 points, 17 points they have pushed for in total. We have a similar breach total to forest over the two breaches - yet we got double the points.
this committee actually allowed the war in Ukraine to be used as mitigation..... yet the other panel and appeal panel didn't?
farce

Controversial opinion: he works hard, but he’s not clinical enough.
We need a creative or opportunistic striker given our poor squad.

Normally when we draw it feels like a loss. Yesterday's draw almost felt like a win. A bit of a gift..
Pickford was excellent.
Gana was good.
Dom at least scored.
Myko was decent.
I'm trying to be positive.

I had to attend conference calls all afternoon and missed the game. The BBC report is interesting, though: "Both sides had chances in an open second half, with substitute Joe Garner hitting the post for Everton within six minutes of his introduction." Did we just recruit a new player?

It should stop but it won’t, it’s been with us for thousands of years, all we can do is to keep calling it out and prosecuting were we can.
All forms of racism and oppression needs to stop, only wish I had the answers.

So where exactly does the flag of St. George come from? The crusaders who rampaged Europe, killing rather indiscriminately. Have you ever read a history of the crusades, the divisions they caused in society, the heartless acts, and how they bankrupted the country? Hmm - maybe that's the link to today's extreme right!
