Manchester United have cancelled Fellaini's birthday celebrations and are keeping their fingers crossed.
  2. Agree with all the comments on Smalling, but would add: In a recent friendly (can't remember who against) Hodgson played Smalling at right full back. This highlighted that not only is he crap but he has no pace either.
  3. Louis You wouldn't have had the problem over £2/2lb of sausages at the time of currency conversion to decimal. £2 of sausages in those days would have filled the boot of your car!
  4. Yes. you need to be of a certain age to get it. I can't claim the credit for it, I pinched it from Private Eye!
  5. The musical 'Half a sixpence' is now available in 3d.
  6. The dark horses are Belgium. Great individual players but it depends on them getting it together as a team. England need to practise penalties, not taking them, saving them, as Suarez will be playing against us.
  7. Welcome in. When I saw the caption 'New member and Artist' I naturally thought that the 'Artist' would be prefaced by P*ss, which would not be unusual on here. Good painting by the way and instantly recognisable in spite of being abstract.
  8. As someone who spent half his formative years (1940's) in Walton Hall Park, playing football, cricket, climbing trees, collecting birds eggs, fishing, even played on the tennis courts on one occasion, my question is: What is the Councils view on losing this amenity and are they able to replace it?

The market stalls down here in the south are full of second hand Manchester United shirts, thousands of them, all disposed of by new Manchester City fans.
  10. Welcome to the Forum. Your reasons for choosing Everton are interesting but you don't know just how lucky you are having made that choice. Everton are a family club, a supporters club, No big money men calling the tune, just good honest men who love Everton. A great manager and a great squad. Good forum this too.

A mini-supermarket has just opened near me. Went down there today and its really good value. The shopping trolleys are only £1.
  12. City will beat Villa and then only have to draw with West Ham, which they will do.
  13. I watched the Liverpool v Palace game, shouting for Palace. When the third Liverpool goal went in I switched over to watch the snooker. Didn't know the Liverpool result until this mornings paper. Missed all the fun.
  14. I remember Barrow as a Division 3 (North) team. In those days there was no automatic promotion to the Leagues from non-League. Teams had to be voted in/voted out. Peterborough took years to be voted in, even though they won everything as a non-league club. Teams like Barrow and Workington were always at risk of being voted out as it was so difficult to travel there. Incidentally, teams didn't have to finish bottom of their league to be voted out, can't remember which team it was but one team finished sixth from bottom and got voted out. Two teams I remember being voted out were New Brighton and Southport.

    Everton v Man City

Thought Howard was poor for the second goal. The header by Dzeko wasn't a 'bullet' header and he was quite far out. Howard should have got to it.

    Everton v Man City

Lukaku was a spectator. The best view in the house and he got paid for it.

They say football's a game of two halves. I find its more like 6 pints.
  18. The Telegraph Sport today states that Everton are considering becoming tenants in a new Liverpool City Council owned 50,000-seat stadium. The location in understood to be Walton Hall Park.
  19. Newcastle were dire, clueless. However 'lucky' Arsenal still got awarded a clear offside goal. Watching on TV, as soon as the ball reached Ozil, I shouted 'offside'. The ref and linesman had a better view than me but didn't give it. However, it didn't make any difference as Newcastle wouldn't have beaten Torquay and they have been relegated to the Conference.
  20. I think we should give the Europa League the elbow. We have a great chance of finishing top four next season and we don't want to risk this by playing extra games every Thursday. Tottenham made exactly this mistake. Who wants to be travelling to some wasteland in deepest eastern Europe to play on a crap pitch in temperatures of -15?
  21. In his after match interview, Brendan Rodgers made the comment 'we like to play in a sporting way'. Someone should ask him how he views all the penalties Liverpool have had from Suarez dives.
  22. It appears that Jurgen Klopp has said he's not interested in the Man U job but his brother Clipperty might be.
  23. Baines would end each season as top scorer - 35 penalties.
