  1. If he goes and play well, he'll be more confident, if he doesn't play well, he'll be more driven to improve, either ways it should help his development.
  2. He can definitely do a lot of good for Everton. It would be interesting to see how Everton cope without him against City.
  3. I'd rate Scholes over Pirlo, but not over Xavi. It is very difficult to compare these players, for sake of argument even if I agree that Scholes didn’t dominate top teams, question is, could Xavi and Pirlo do better job in Scholes shoes against? Remember unlike Xavi and Pirlo who always had two world class midfielders paired with them (such as Iniesta, Bouquets, Vidal, Seedorf, De Rossi, Guttuso), after Keane, Scholes never had player of that caliber to play along, and he always operated in midfield of two. As for replacing Xavi with Scholes in Spanish team, you could say United would not have had so much success under Fergie without Scholes, United’s decline coincides with Scholes too. I am not suggesting Scholes is better or even equal to Xavi but he certainly is closer to Xavi level than any other similar-style midfielder is. Scholes didn’t struggle against top teams, a bit of a ridiculous suggestion. Case and point, Xavi and Iniesta played both legs against United in 2008 Champion’s League semi-final, it was Scholes’ goal that knocked them out of the tournament. It wasn’t Scholes’ fault that United were not as dominant in Europe as Milan or Barcelona. United had a chance to do that after winning in ’99 but we screwed it up by failing to replace Schmeichel and Stam.
  4. If theres one word that could describe Steven Gerrard, it would be overrated. Is he talented? Obviously he is but he doesn't belong anywhere near the league of real legends such as Xavi, Pirlo and Scholes. He is incredible at grabbing attention, and he has tendency to do something incredible every now and then but he could never control the game for 90 minutes week in week out like Xavi or Scholes did. You can argue all you want how he has been the driving force behind Liverpool, but what have they achieved in that period? They would have been better off if they had any one of the players i mentioned above instead of Gerrard during that period.
  5. Dear Everton fans, please cheer for Manchester City at Goodison. Trust me, last thing anyone want is Liverpool winning league. Consider the following gif as a token of appreciation, thank you!
  6. Passes ball to nearest available player and runs forward. He have been scapegoat for United fans for a while now but I dont think he is THAT bad. He'd be better suited in a 4-3-3 system, paired with another midfielder who like to run.
  7. Unsure about Lukaku? Isnt it a bit unfare to expect a 20 year old to be consistent? He is potentially one of the most talented young strickers in the world rightnow, which is why he command the hefty prizetag. If you can get him, you should, he is going to worth much more in few years.
  8. An open letter to Moyes by Everton fan The above fan article sums up how majority of United fans feel rightnow. Moyes' football style have been horrible, United attempted 81 crosses against Fulham! There was no tall player to aim at so the tactics did not work. There was no plan B. I agree with Matt that squad haven't been the strongest in last few years but to draw at Old Trafford against bottom of the league table with players such as Rooney, Van Persie and Mata is just unacceptable. Its so tue, I feel like crying. Well, Moyes and Ed Woodward screwed up big time during Summer window so that had to do something in winter. They weren't gonna miss out on a top player like Mata even though Mata doesn't fit Moyes' style of play. Mata's best position is #10 but thats where Rooney plays. Against Stoke, Moyes actually prefered Danny Welbeck as #10, even though both Mata and Rooney were on pitch. Like someone already said here, Moyes with Mata is pretty much tits on bull. I think Mata can play on flanks in a 4-3-3 system, which is never going to happen under David Moyes at least. Edited: Fixed link.
  9. 1. De Gea 2. Begovic 3. Lloris I may be a little bias but De Gea for me is the best keeper in league. He was weak against crosses but I don't think its a problem anymore. He was brilliant throughout last season, this seaon he has suffered due to incompetence of our centerback. Funny how much Joe Hart's stocks have gone down, makes me wonder who will be England's No.1 in worldcup.
  10. Progression? United is experience the opposite under him. Several players have came out on media and spoke against him, the latest being Zaha who tweeted a picture with Solskjaer, captioned "‘Nothing like someone who believes in you". Moyes is completely uninspiringly and have lost his players in just few months encharge. Anyhow, back to the topic. I am happy Baines signed a new deal. Most United fans are. We were all too afraid that Moyes will end up spending something around £20m on him. No doubt Baines have been an absolute terrific player for Everton, but we want a younger player to replace Evra.
  11. Losing Vidic is a huge blow, I believe he is definately good enough to do the job at United and he is a leader. We could really use his experience, even if he is demoted to a squad player. As for Mata, Gary Neville rightly pointed out that Mata doesn't fit the traditional United system. You guys probably know Moyes' playing style better than I do but from what I know, he isn't a big fan of attacking midfielders who makes little to no contribution defensively. I think both Fellaini and Mata were panic buys. £64m could have been spend better on a true worldclass midfielder (like Febregas, Modric or Moutinho), and a replacement for Evra (like Coentrao, Shaw or Moreno).
