  1. I'm not really arsed about players being English either I just meant he'll help towards us meeting our home grown players with UEFA . I know we easily meet it now but in 3 seasons or so who knows. I doubt any of it's relevant anyway because it's almost a given he wont sign
  2. More experience playing in Europe than all of our squad put together to be fair. But it's each to their own. As I've already said, I wouldn't piss myself with excitement if he came but I think he would be a decent (note I said decent) addition. He's also English .
  3. Oh well, if he doesn't want to come then fuck him. One thing he needs to get in his head is he isn 't bigger than the club. It could well be something of nothing. Chelsea may of forced him to take it down... I think we all agree that it just needs putting to bed because it's getting old really fast
  4. I'm not on twitter. But I take it it said "evedton player" yesterday and today it ssys Chelsea?
  5. It does seem contradictory to what he's been saying but an arm around him from Jose and all could be well again. It 's no secret he's desperate to stay but there doesn't seem to be a place for him with Jose in charge. I think if he clicked his fingers though Rom would come running. Tbh I'm past caring now. I'd love him to sign but it's getting boring. Either sign or don't and we'll move on. How long does he want. Sometimes I think Madtinez cuts players too much slack
  6. Oh god, I take it it never said Chelsea yesterday then? If it didn't then maybe he's telling us something. If so, AT LAST! Lets move on anx put him behind us
  7. I have no idea how long he has on his contract, but he's only 25 can play centre back or right back and as I keep mentioning, comes with a wealth of experience so for 4-5 million (cheap as chips for a prem footballer these days) I think he would do a job for us. Each to their own I suppose but if he was available around that price with him being able to cover 2 positions and given his age I wouldn't be too disappointed.
  8. I'm not saying he's a world beater mate but cheap enough and on reasonable wages he would be ok to bulk the squad out. He's played champions league footy, England international... As I say not as a starter but would most definitely do as a squad player imo Bit harsh Romney mate. He's not that bad lol
  9. Oh my god, this really has happened hasn't it?! When I first saw the photo I just thought it was a joke because the socks hadn't been put on yet! Someones head needs to roll over this. Maybe get the lawyers in and try and wrangle out of the deal due to breach of contract, negligence , anything? I'm clutching at straws here I know.
  10. I'd have him if he was cheap enough and he didn 't want stupid wages. Think he would be ok as a squad player. Never a first nme on the sheet but he could stand in no probs and he 's played in some big games so comes with plenty of experience. People had that "oh fuck" feeling with Gibson and Howard look how that turned out.
  11. No thanks. The comforting thing for me is that it's been run by the Daily Mail. Nothing they print in that rag is ever true. Cue us signing him tomorrow and me looking like a right nob.

    Alright

Roberto had a dream, to build a football team, we had no money so we had to get them on loan.... With Jags at the back, and Ross in attack, the school of science, it's on it's way back.. How did I do?
  13. Just the fact they're even picking up on it means they're doing well. They'll have him nailed on to sign for Tottenham by morning then slash their odds on their own betting site to odds on, rake in the money from stupid punters then he'll sign for us. How they get away with having a news channel and betting site is beyond me. Talk about a conflict of interest!!!
  14. Actually the stadium is getting a re-vamp isn't it so I would guess those areas wont be ready when this game is played. Either way, no tour. With the hype around Howard in the States, what an ideal time to do a tour there. Nar that's a stupid idea isn't it (sarcasm intended)
  15. We're not here for the Osman testimonial so I haven't looked but what an odd thing to do?? Wouldn't be like Everton to make a shambles out of something would it :|
  16. Without taking sides here, I welcome all walks of life, nationalities and any other category you want to throw in. If you're s blue then you'll do for me. The supporters in other countries (especially the USA help to bring the club to a global market something we so desperately need so the more the merrier as far as I 'm concerned.
  17. The pre season seems really strange, anybody know why it's like this this season?
  18. Yer the main stand is probably best for a good view of the pitch for you all. The Upper Bullens is good as well if you can get decent seats. Just be careful when you buy them to check they are not restricted views there are a lot of them (especially in the upper bullens) and you could end up in front of a post. The Park End is the newest up to date stand in the ground so the views from there are all good but you'll be behind the goal so main stand/upper bullens would be my advice. Failing that, top balcony again you'll be side on and get to see the match with a good view (albeit with the gods) Wherever you sit you'll be very welcome at the old lady and I hope you all have a great time. Remember Evertonians are born we're not manufactured!
  19. Amen to that. It does need sorting one way or another. Personally I hope he signs and is worth the wait but if it goes tits up and we're left standing there holding our dicks while he goes and scores 20 a season elsewhere!! It does seem like everything is hinging on this. I would imagine most of our budget will go on this transfer, if it collapses I think it's going to be a case of one will get you two so to speak and we'll move for different targets we couldn't afford if he did sign.
  20. I'll sort of repeat what I said in the rumourama thread... I think the lad will be a superstar one day I really do and I also think at 21 he will have a decent sell on value for us which is a must for a club with our financial situation. I also don't buy into the "he's doesn't get the Everton way" line of thinking, I don't think many players these days fit into that line of thinking, it's not unheard of but with agents in their ear the days of players falling in love with clubs are numbered. You only have to look across Stanley Park for an example of that. All things considered, he does seem to have an ego but he also seems to look up to (not literally) to Martinez so there is no reason why under his guidance the boy can't develop into a Drogba like status and if he does and we sell him on at 25/26 for 50 million plus then everyones a winner. He'll score goals we all know that and that is one thing nobody can argue against. He seems liked by the other players and Martinez seems smitten with him. I really can't see an argument against signing him but if he is umming and ahhing for too long we should drop him and move on. Nobody is bigger than this club!
