  1. My guess: 2-0 or 2-2 That is all.
  2. I'm at work, so only able to read the board. Did ANYTHING good happen? Sounds like a real downer.
  3. Newb here, but I've always liked Welbeck. IMO it seems he has a tremendous upside and starting 3 years ago, seemed like he might start making tremendous strides towards achieving that potential. However, at least in the last 12 months, he hasn't produced well at all. In small part some of his shortcomings have come from not playing his proper position and the seemingly short leash he was given. When there was no pressure to produce a couple years ago and was given the opportunity to play his desired position, he started to shine. Love his hustle/work ethic as well. Anyway, this all is probably completely obvious. Just thought I'd share since he's actually one of the few players I knew about other than the major superstars a couple years back when I started watching more EPL. And he's still so young.
  4. Holy Hell it's Friday!

  5. Without even seeing that jacket, I know exactly what that jacket looks like. I'm not a Mets fan and I don't necessarily dislike them. But from afar, it's pretty bleak being a Mets fan. Well, at least since '86.
  6. The Mets? Terrible. No one likes the Mets, even Mets fans.
  7. It's unlikely to be made, but I would LOVE a New Era 59Fifty fitted Everton hat. All blue and just the shield on the front. EPL badge on the back or maybe "est. 1878 ". I could see those selling decenly in the states for each EPL team. Just my $.02
  8. James you are clearly cursed. Do you mind if I buy you a Seattle Seahawks Richard Sherman jersey? Your curse will certainly aide my 49ers in years to come with him gone from the Seahawks. Because I know everyone is on pins and needles about my decision, I DID end up getting a jersey from Everton Direct. Had the blank one in my cart, ready to pull the trigger. Then a voice, eerily similar to the one in Field of Dreams, said "Go with the Seamus". F*ck it, it's my jersey, done. A blank jersey does stand test of time regardless of the players on the squad, but I think as an American it's engrained into my head to get a name/number on the back. To me, it just looks better. And it's friggin' Seamus! To quote Paddock - "Jobs a good -un" (I had to look up what this meant btw).
  9. Sorry Paddock, I have not heard of Steve Vasquez. However, I can sometimes barely remember the names of my friends. But I do know that Cloris Leachman (Great Gam Gam in Beerfest) is from Des Moines. Agbaby - Royal Mile...too many Beers....too much Scotch....so little time. Good times.
  10. The great metropolis that is Des Moines. Nice that we do have a few pubs/bars to watch football on Saturday mornings here.
  11. Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate that the thread consensus was "fuck it, do what you like". Leaning more towards the clean look of a blank jersey, but I do find it appealing to get a Coleman #23 jersey.
  12. Just trying to learn the ropes.

  13. Thinking of getting an Everton jersey for match day or any other day I feel like being awesome. Question: is it considered lame or bad form to get a player name on the back? I only ask because it's common practice here in the states to get an NBA or NFL jersey with a name and number. I'm not sure if they even sell them without. Baseball jerseys seem to be about 50/50 blank or with a player name. Most often its a hall of fame caliber player on the back. But for a football jersey, should you only be under the age 18 or playing for actual club to get a name on the back? Clearly they sell both and it's a matter of opinion which you prefer. At the same time, I very much enjoy not being a dolt. I apologize up front such a stupid question, please take it easy on me! -Nate
  14. I can't say if I was born an Evertonian and now just realized it or if I was simply chosen (probably chosen). Either way, I'd like to consider myself an Evertonian going forward. I must admit, Tim Howard is a big reason I'm a supporter. Plus, who doesn't love the color blue. Forgive me, my soccer IQ is a bit shaky, as I've only played goalie in a rec league. I'm athletic, very competitive with great hand/eye coordination....with almost no eye/foot/ball coordination. I have gone from knowing nothing about Lukaku 6 months ago, to then seeing him bury the US, I did quietly wonder to myself "what club does he play for?". Several youtube videos later, I've come to see how menacing the young striker can be. And Seamus Coleman! An absolute thrill to watch. I love the passion and loyalty of the supporters and the tremendous history of the club. Anyway, just wanted to say hi. -Nate
