  1. Rather than fill in the hole left by the dock I would like to see a massive underground car park (like Monaco) so that you could park under the corner flag with plenty of exits for cars, buses and coaches.
  2. With the rest of Everton fans I am frustrated by Roberto Martinez's tactics this year, But I cannot see Bill Kenwright sackig him. ~ I noticed after the great game against Chelsea, he came out in praise of the manager. However in defence of Martinez he has had a great record in the transfer market. Martinez joined Everton in June 2013, he brought with him James McCarthy and Joel Robes and that close season he signed on loan Romelu Lukaku under the noses of WBA. and Gerard Deulofeu from Barcelona again on loan. The following close season he signed Gareth Barry. In the last close season he signed Aaron Lennon and Tom Cleverley. I was sceptical about most of these especially Gareth Barry and Aaron Lennon, but I have to admit Martinez was right. Even the most ardent Martinez critics must admit his record in the transfer market has been excellent. I was surprised that last week Derby County appointed Harry Rednapp as a consultant to help their coach. If Kenwright won't sack Martinez a good compromise would be to appoint a good assistant manager. One name that comes to mind is Philip Neville. Obviously I don't know if he would come to Everton, but I could see that he would think an excellent stepping stone to becoming a Premiere League Manager. Perhaps it could even be Everton. ;
  3. We are clear favourites with the bookies 5/2 or 9/4 All the others are 4/1 or 5/1
  4. I feel as if I am walking om water ~ I can't believe how well things are going. First of all there was the win on Saturday. But it wasn't just the win but well we did it and how well the whole team played ~ it was a real team effort. But secondly the appearance of Farhad Moshiri ~ like most people I had never heard of him a month ago. On the new Forbes List he is the 1011 richest billionaire in the world with $1.91billion to his name. Abramavich is 151 in the world with $7.91billion. However he genuinely seemed to be enjoying and understanding the game. I compare him with the other billionaire owners who seldom attend let alone enjoy or understand the beautiful game. His interview with Bill Kenwright was great (I hope he is not put off with Kenwright's arm around his shoulder real luvie duvie). Farhad said all the right things about investing in the team and the stadium Well done Bill Kenwright for finding someone who ticks all the boxes. I was afraid we were going to end up with someone like the Glaziers. He was on the sidelines when Arsenal moved stadiums so I hope he looks at the attendance figures over the weekend. Man Unt v West Ham 75,000 Arsenal v Watford 58,436, Everton v Chelsea 37,283. He will realise what needs doing.
  5. I agree that Stoke will not sell Butland. I think the TV money is going to make a seismic change to the transfer market. No longer will Premier league teams be selling their best players to stay afloat. Players will only move from one premier team to another if the player or the players agent really wants a move. The transfers will be mainly from foreign teams to the Premier league because the foreign clubs don't get the same TV money, or from lower leagues to the premier for the same reason. The great thing about this season is the best emerging players have come from lower league teams. The FA Cup was a good showcase for some good players.
  6. I think Joe Hart or Caballero will be available soon
  7. In my view if Deulofeu, Lennon and Miralias had been together against WBA they would have found a way arond the park bus.
  8. Romey wrote "Our changes weren't changes at all. It's like Martinez hasn't got a clue how to influence games with his subs any more. He had the options there to change it, to gamble seeing as we were losing anyway, but he didn't". I agree There is a lot of difference between how managers watch the game. It seems that Martinez stands in the technical area with his arms folded, talking to no one. Other managers sit in the dugout with clipboard in hand having conversations with their assistants. I think he should alternate between the dug out and technical area and when he is making changes talk it through to someone. It seems everyone in the ground (booing the substitution of Lennon) posters on this board and the newspapers think all the substitutions were rubbish. I'm sure if Martinez had talked the substitutions through with someone they would have been different and better.
  9. I hope Peterborough will take West Brom to extra time and win in penalties. This will nacker and deflate West Brom so we can win 3 0 again on Saturday. Its getting boring all these 3 0 wins
  10. I bet John Stones is glad he didn't sign for Chelsea in the summer like he wanted to
  11. If Baynes hadn't been taken a corner on the right he might have stopped Navas getting the ball on the left ~ where Baynes should have been. I noticed that when Baynes was taking a corner on the right City put 2 players where Baynes should have been and cleared the ball there
  12. On the one hand the critics of Martinez say that Everton have the best team for years and on the other hand they say Martinez should go. But the present team is largely down to Martinez. He joined Everton in May 2013 the following September he signed Romelu Lukaku on loan in an audacious swoop under the noses of West Brom. He signed Gerry Deulofeu on loan from Barcelona ~ not mant managers would have been able to do. John Stones and Barkley were at the club when he came but he has developed them from teenagers to the players they are today. He brought in Robles, Kone and McCarthy from Wigan ~ they have all been successes ~ in fact I can't think of anyone he has brought in who has been a failure. Martinez has done all this on a relative shoestring and made millions for Everton Football club. Who do the doom-mongers want to replace Roberto? Brendan Rogers, Louis Val Gaal or other celebrity managers who have lost their clubs hundreds of millions. The first thing a celebrity manager will ask is what is my transfer budget. Please don't think I think he is perfect He grates me in his post match interviews. nobody's perfect so I put up with that I think he should use substitutes better. every match 14 players should be used, if there are no enforced Substitutes the bench should be used at roughly 60mins, 70mins, and 80mins. Again I put up with that rather than call for him to be sacked. Last season everthing went wrong for Leicester, but this season everything is going right for them. Lets hope the tide will turn for Everton in the New year starting with 9 points over the Festive Season
  13. The price anybody pays ~ £200M or £250M ~ will go to the shareholders. So I am not worried how much they pay. The important thing is how much they are going to invest over and above this to make Everton Football Club financally stong and successful.
