  1. So I have good news and bad news for you...
  2. A league goal. I will always remember this moment.
  3. I like Brentford. They don't deserve that.
  4. It's a good, lively, positive start with decent chances being made and Everton dominant. We all know how this is going to end.
  5. Couple of places above Liverpool and looking to cement a Europa place. I'm a few beers in, feeling positive.
  6. Released by Nice today after a single year. What a damp squib of a career he ended up having after leaving Everton. He's now a free agent so expect countless articles in the Echo over the next 2 months about how he's coming back here.
  7. Until what? The game's tomorrow mate.
  8. Consecutive 90th minute goals (v Chelsea and Spurs no less). Fighting to the very end, great to see.
  9. Not sure how I feel about that. He still has 2 years to go and while he's been fantastic so far this season, there are many examples of players being rewarded with a new contract following a brief purple patch only for their form to then drop back off. I'd rather they started thinking about this at least midway through the season, not after 7 games.
  10. This team with this manager is not getting relegated.
  11. Bump. Mkay, so a lot of you said you'd wait until the transfer window is over before making your choice. Window's now closed so what do we now think? Me, I'm sticking with my initial vote: between 11th and 14th.
  12. Does anyone know roughly what our net spend has been this window?
  13. Thread title is self-explanatory. Tomorrow's the big kick-off, where do you think we will end up come final whistle against Bournemouth in May?
  14. The title of this thread really came into its own the last page or two! I'm not 'mocking' in any way the religion discussion but when I saw all the new posts, having been away for a while, I thought maybe we had some major Gana news. Instead I'm reading the transcript of a Richard Dawkins-Archbishop of Canterbury debate. My own religious and moral worldview, for what it's worth, stems from that great spiritual leader, Mr George Carlin: Thou shalt always be honest and faithful to the provider of thy nookie. Thou shalt try real hard not to kill anyone. Thou shalt keep thy religion to thyself. Anyway, has Gana signed?
  15. Petition to make this guy honorary president of Toffeetalk until the end of the season.
  16. I hope we won't miss this amazing atmosphere when we move to the new stadium.
  17. Try some prune juice, it works wonders.
  18. As awful, miserable and stressful as this season has been, it's still delivered 3 of the greatest moments I can remember as an Everton fan (and I was there at Wembley when Paul Rideout headed in to win the 1995 FA Cup). The Arsenal result, the Man United result, and yesterday's Chelsea result. There's still the Everton spirit in the club and I honestly think we're going to avoid relegation and go on to better things next season.
  19. Starting to love this lad. He has lots of room for improvement but having the amount of passion shown here means he'll be ready to put in the hard work. On a related note it's been nice watching the wheels fall off Digne's Villa lately.
  20. What an occasion yesterday must have been for you. So happy you were able to experience it.
  21. That loan signing from Villa not even on the bench. Bizarre bit of business that one.
  22. A post from United's forum: "Also, without McT being available and Matic’s limited capacity to barely last 60 mins, we are soft as feck in midfield. We will need at least a couple of goals, or we’re stuffed" Leaving aside how that guy obviously doesn't know how impossible we find it to score goals, energy in midfield will be key, because he's right that United are very weak in that area right now. Plus their defenders always have a mistake in them (I know, I know, so do ours). But they're there for the taking provided our players want it. Lampard needs to get his subs right bearing in mind how United have a tendency to tire towards the end these days. Keep some pace on the bench and introduce it on the hour mark.
