That’s a great standard mate I’m 17.3 my lowest was 14 about 20 years ago, I really tried not to be to competitive at golf I use it more of a release from work where I am having to show my competitive side constantly, so use to relax and forget about my worries.

If he does well he will probably be playing Wednesday, as long as the training isn’t punishing playing is the best form of fitness and much more enjoyable, he’ll be fine mate and looking forward to the derby believing he’s going to score a few.

I’ve never had a putting lesson in my life I know people that have and still do, but as we all know the saying is distance for show putting for dough, I might succumb and book one but I’m worried thinking about it, as I think it’s the one element of the game that is unique to every individual, and I don’t want that part of my game to be compromised, and yet I probably need the help and it could save me a couple of shots around, decisions decisions why’s golf like life so complicated.

Putting on fast greens is more my forte I like to read them and let the speed of the green do the rest, I’m terrible on slow greens where I feel like I’m forcing the putt if that makes sense, then it all goes tits up with not much control on distance and direction. Also I prefer putting with a soft ball I find the harder balls come off the face of the club like a rocket. But I do feel for you having to use a strange putter, it’s a nightmare you grow attached to your putter the balance the weight, putting is a confidence thing, I’d say my putter is coming up to 30 years old and if I lost that it would take me months to get over it, unless of course I’m lucky and the first one I replace it with knocks them in from all over.

He’s found the consistency and confidence which I felt was missing in past years, he’s now becoming the finished article he’s making it look effortless which all great strikers do, reminds me of myself a bit

I thought I would open this thread for all the members who are interested in Golf rather than clog up the Olsen thread.

Spot on the the first movement on the down swing is your hips. I have my lessons with a pro coach on Trackman, it films you and gives so much info on your swing, then after every lesson you’re coach will send you a couple of your swings you made, and a voice over on what you need to work on. I use to cast outside to in now I’m inside to out with a draw and less spin on the ball which use to cost me so much distance particularly with the driver.

The PL funding is 1.4 billion the loss of gate receipts is only a scratch to these teams not even a cut. The championship divide 120 million the loss of gate receipts is massive to them a severe wound, divisions 1 & 2 are going to see a lot of teams go to the wall the loss of gate receipts to them will be a fatal wound. Should the PL share the wealth I believe they should after all if it wasn’t for the football league there would be no Premier League, but I understand that there will be a lot of PL clubs against having their income cut to support teams in the EFL, because there argument will be they are spending more than they get right or wrongly. Also there’s a good argument that we are bloated as country with the amount of leagues and professional teams in these league it’s been on the brink of unsustainable years before Covid added to their woes, I know it’s a very emotive subject as supporters of the smaller clubs have just as much passion for their teams as any supporters of a PL team, with the history of hundreds of years playing behind them, so rather than go out of business entirely and become another Bury should the 1st & 2nd division clubs consolidate and go part time before it’s to late, because I can’t see it getting any better for them any time soon sadly.

This club has class not everything it does is done solely for profit or gain, we are there supporting their community through football, and if something else comes from that then that’s a bonus, not the be all and end all.

I really don’t think Richarlison will be committing himself to longer and improved contract anytime soon, I believe he will wait till the death to see what his options are.

All I can say is that if ball passed at 30 yards stays in the air for 5 seconds, it must have gone 150 yards high

Of course they rotate keepers in friendlies as they do all positions, last night was a prime example hardly a 1st team player out there. I remember Shilton and Clemence rotated a fair bit for England in friendlies and full international’s, even Woods use to get a look in now and then, to say it never happens is not correct it does happen, it has in the past and will in the future. As Steve said let’s see at the weekend, and I’m sure one of us will be crowing and ribbing the other.
