  1. Given it to Johnny today. He's been poor this season but he was much better today. Helped to free up Arteta in midfield a little more and was getting a little more stuck in, his passing range was closer to where it was during his good run for us at the end of last season.

No real star performers today but Yak, Pienaar, Distin and Baines all did well throughout. Everyone just stuck to their jobs today.

  2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ub8FXMPT7oU

Starts on Fx tomorrow I think but is available to watch online now.

I highly recommend it. Directed by Frank Darabont(Shawshank Redemption/ The Green Mile) and based on a Robert Kierkmans graphic novel series. I've been reading them for awhile so was really looking forward to it.

The pilot is fantastic. Watched it earlier and was not let down.
  3. So now that Coleman has starting getting a run of games, after being hyped so much, what do people think about his progress?

Personally I think that he did well in patches against Liverpool, but has been fairly poor the last few games. However, he may have been disapointing but we have been picking up points with him in the team. He still far from the finished product but shows glimpses of brilliance, one thing though I think we can all tell that it's going to take a little more time and perhaps Moyes caution with brining him in can be justified.

n a side note I would like to see Gueye start getting some game time from the bench. I think he could offer us something different, perhaps if we take Coleman off again from the wing it would be good to see Gueye given a run?

  4. I'm actually going to have to come back to this because there were so many good performances. Distin, Yak, Coleman, Baines, Cahill and Arteta all superb.

Also worth noting just how good Ossie was. I'm one of his biggest critics but he was probably one if, if not the, best player in the first 45. He'd be right up there if he hadn't picked up a knock.

  5. I agree. I'm so fucking nervous. I wish there had not been the international break in between our last fixtures. Any momentum both teams had have been totally shifted, and within this time we've lost Jags and Felli (and Ross Barkley to a double leg break, though that's not a huge issue for this fixture).

After the Brum result I was extremely confident of getting a result in this fixture, now that has totally dissipated and i'm very very nervous.

  6. I've always liked Simao but he's gone backwards in the last few years, he has however started well this season. Socred a few goals for Atletico and also been captaining them due to other injuries. Can't really see it coming off, he's a good player but I doubt he'd don much for us. A bit like Maxi for Liverpool, once great but not so much anymore

  7. anyone noticed on wikipedia someone has changed his birth date to 1952

crackin vid the guy is by a mile the best we have!

i remember gettin annoyed when i saw that goal at 2:05 on match of the day cos the commentator said he scuffed it

They've also added in "he struggles to stay fit because of an asthma problem and a KFC bargain bucket addiction

  8. Shouldnt that say 8 how good he was 8 months before his injury?

If the Fulham game is anything to go by he is already playing better than he was when he got injured

It's still around 18 months without regular first team football though, and prior to his injury Yak had still been scoring a few goals despite not performing hugely well, if I remember he'd started scoring a fair few headers prior to injury.

And if you want a reminder of how good he can be just watch the video posted in the Everton section earlier today. He was class and it shouldn't be too late.

  9. Watched it tonight....very disappointing.

Ridiculous "Saving Private Ryan" moments in the climax. Absurd.

The whole film was a mess really.

I've just finished watching the end of Season Two of Breaking Bad. It was fantastic. I highly recommend this show to anyone. It's a drama about a high school chemistry teacher (Played by Bryan Cranston, who was the dad from Malcom in The Middle) who learns that he's got inoperable lung cancer. He wants to leave his family enough money for after he dies, so he starts making and selling crystal meth. It sounds random but really is a fantastic show.

  10. I'd have taken a clean sheet and a point before hand but still came away from the game disapointed, perhaps if West Ham had lost to Spurs I would look on this as an even better point. I was pleased with Pienaar and despite missing a few good chances I thought that Yakubu is slowly starting to get back to where he once was. The hesitancy in front of goal is running through the whole team, and after missing out on about 18 months of first team football that hesiticany will be even worse for Yakubu. I think that it will be interesting to see how Yakubu continues after he scores his first goal this season. Hopefully the first goal will boost his confidence and he will start to vary his attacking style a little, as you can tell he's playing it safe at the moment by the fact that almost every chance he tries to play it along the ground into one of the bottom corners. It's easy to forget just how good he was prior to his injury. He consistantly brought what our team lacks at the moment, and that's goals.

  11. Ah but if you're there you're contributing aren't you, so therefore a small part of the accomplishment.

Matches are often won when players are inspired by the crowd; it's much easier to run the London marathon than 26.2 miles on your own because the crowd "carries you."

At the relatively low level that I participated in sport I always performed better when a few (sometimes more than a few B) ) people were watching.

I take your point but I just played my "get out of jail free" card :P .

PS Anyone seen the Ridley Scott Robin Hood? Is it worth a watch?

I was really disapointing with it. I don't think they knew exactly what to do with it, in parts they seem to want to look at the political side of things, but only in a half hearted way, but these sections still take up so much of the film that any action, similar to other Ridley Scott films, is sparce. Don't listen to any comparisons with Gladiator as the films are almost polar opposites in quality.

  12. Andy Johnson? Fit? It was windy last week and that probably took him out.

I like Dembele but with the form he's in having him out for Saturday would be very good for us, hope it isn't a broken leg/shin or whatever though.

I am dreading this game though. I'm actually in London on Saturday and free for the whole time of the game but can't put myself through it at the moment. I'll have one week off from ruining my week until I go to Brum away.

I can't see us getting anthing from this game but i'd love to get one over Hughes. I like Fulham, hate Hughes.
