  1. Hi. I'm not sure if this goes against site regs but, could you guys help out a fellow toffee? My wife has entered us into a wedding of the year competition and we need the votes. Its easy to vote, just click the link, scroll down to "I want this couple to win wedding of the year 2012" and click. http://www.anessexwedding.com/woty_vote.cfm?GI_WOTY_ID=1478 Many thanks Andy & Claire COYB
  2. http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=1MBWmlYwPLM He's been dubbed "The Van". Looks awesome. Just need FIFA to do something right.
  3. its a very vague report. They haven't even bothered mentioning a price. We need a playmaker and if the cost fits, Moyes knows who to pick. IMWT.
  4. I know its only his first game and i may be jumping the gun, but if he continues to do well I hope there is some deal at the end of it. It will be gutting having to give him back at the end of the season. If we havent got an agreement to buy (which it seems from all reports is the case) we dont stand a chance of keeping him. Some other club will prob snap him up - can't see him wanting to return to city unless hughes goes.
  5. Saw Johnson against AC Milan on 5 the other day. seemed like he had a lot of potential. But would rather see us go for a bit more experience and give our youngsters a chance. If we play our young players maybe people will see that they are just as good as Johnson and havent cost us the 8mil we would have to spend on johnson. Its time to back the youngsters not get on their backs, the season hasnt started yet. We didnt buy huge last season, we bought late and finished 5th. A bit of faith from the everton faithful is required. A bad atmosphere will not help the team, it will only lead to our own downfall.
  6. hes 28, nearly 29. I have seen him play a couple of games and he seems quite impressive. Although he reminds me of Carlton Palmer! He's the type of player everyone cheers when on the ball cos he looks so clumsy. But he distributes really well.
  7. Does anyone know if we've got an option to buy Gardner? Personally I hate us giving money to the spurts. If he does well for us then sods off back to shite hart lane then I don't see the point of having him at Everton. We never really buy any good players from Tottenham. V Samways, S Davies spring to mind. I've always gone on the opinion that Tottenham players are well overated, but cos they are in London they get looked at more. Woodgate straight into the England set-up?! Yes he's good, but never really got a look when he was at Boro.

Whats the opinion on Edmar. Obviously only seen him twice, but if he was cheap would be good cover for arteta?! or is that a bit far fetched? One to keep an eye on perhaps.
  9. Sign me up. Im there. I want a pink shirt. Proper collectors item, plus doing your bit for charity. Arteta and Yakubu love their shirt so much they cant take their eyes off it.

There's a lot of tough teams there! Last year the teams in europe looked crap. Weren't there loads of crap teams still in at the group stage last year?

Blackburn went out and bolton struggled. Im hoping metalist were a good upcoming side - they have a billionaire owner. Bit like Villareal when we played them. No excuses though we were shit, and lucky. Only looked good once we reverted back to what we know 4-5-1

The good and the bad. BAD: Yobo & Jagielka both ball watched - where's your man, there behind you! Yakubu - for a big built man can not hold a ball up. Great goalscoring talent, but we dont play the way he's used to (running at teams). Every ball played along the ground by metalist in the first half found its man - defence splitting. We need to sure up the midfield with two tacklers. The defence has got to stop ball watching. GOOD: Lescott, nuf said. Mcfadden - worked a lot better running at players than receiving his ball with his back to goal like the first leg. Anichebe - Powerhouse, please don't play for Nigeria - England is calling (is it too late).
  13. This is a very similar problem to the tevez situation. Under current prem laws a club can not buy a player who is owned/part owned by an agent/company. This is a huge headache for the FA at the moment as this type of arrangement is not recognised under their guide lines. What I understand is if you want 100% of players rights then you have to pay both parties, but the FA wont allow payments of such kind to agents. I'm not too sure what the 'players rights' actually entails either. only speculate that each party gets a 50% say in the matter with the player casting the final vote.
  14. So whats the opinion on anderson? From what Ive seen he seems a good aquisition. Faddy got us out of a hole. He can certainly do a job for us this season given a chance.
