I can se what Migel is saying to be honest. Stones has not got the attributes to play the role Martinez is asking him to do when he plays at RB In the derby he was woeful but he wasnt exactly the only player to have a bad night. Martinez got his tactics horribly wrong on the night and as a team we were defending far too high up the pitch especially given the lack of pace we had in the back four I dont think Roberto is doing him any favours playing him as an attacking RB. He should either change his tactics to accomodate him or get someone in who can do the job he wants from a RB

My perception of the way Martinez wants us to play is that the full backs bomb on and play high up the pitch almost like wingers ala Coleman and Baines so to answer your question I would say no it isnt exclusively McGeadys job If we were playing a flat 4-4-2 then yeah its McGeadys job and Stones in that scenario as a FB is fine. It is unfair to compare him to Baines and Coleman but if thast the job Martinez wants his full backs to do then I just dont think Stones is the man

Ok we have Kone, who I dont rate but thats another argument, and its already been pointed out that Vellios looks like he is off If you honestly think a side with top 4 ambitions is ok to have Kone and Naismith as its attacking options then I think you need to step away from the glue

I think thats the bit he is lacking in to be honest, I know it is unfair to compare him to Coleman, but in situations where Seamus would take the full back on and either get a shot in or hit the bi line and get a dangerous cross in Stones would either turn around and pass it backwards or lump it into the box from deep when we havent got anyone in there who could get on the end of it Apart from his positional play being a bit iffy I dont think there is too much wrong with him defensively but he offers nothing going forward. I can see him having a big future at the club but just not at RB
