Der, der, derrrrrrrrrrr - we have a winner!

Interesting one - good technically, which you’d expect from Brighton - was meant to go on-loan to WBA this time last year - at 25 (next week), I’m not sure there’s a future at BHA. Very versatile if memory serves and left sided (obviously central mid) so ticks a lot of boxes.

If Iwobi, Gray and Cannon are going (as rumoured) I think we’ll need 2 attacking players wide/10.
Options:
Striker: Beto, DCL, Maupay (I think he’s available at the right price), Chermiti
Wings/10: McNeil, Harrison, Danjuma, Dobbin
Not bad options now when fully fit but look at our injuries already and it shows we’re short.
With quite a few central midfield options already, I shouldn’t be hoping for Kalvin Phillips on-loan but he’d improve us so so much - he’s off somewhere on-loan. I’d happily see Garner played right-back (a role I think he plays better than right mid) regularly to fit Phillips - not happening anyway!!!

He was very good under Dyche but I seem to remember this being at the expense of McNeil (changing position/ losing form) and Dyche ultimately lost his job and Burnley went down - Cornet clearly wasn’t the main cause but I think his addition upset the balance.

We are CB away from a very good window in my opinion.
…as long as it doesn’t impact on Branthwaite being a starter - ideally, I’d like a centre-back who is just as comfortable as full-back cover. It does seem we are after a centre-back who can cover rb by the links.
I also want a live wire winger - once again the Gnonto pursuit and Sulemana links suggest we’re in the market for one.
I’m being greedy now but if Arsenal/Man C are really allowing Smith-Rowe/Palmer leave, even for just a season/ buy-back, then we need to be all over this.

Please be a Saudi club
Think he already said he didn’t want to go there as feels he can still play in the Champions League - hence why he’ll go to Fulham…

Does it if its a completely separate company?
Naming rights etc. will all go towards steadying the ship at EFC… the stadium is useless tenantless… unless they have some other tenants lined up…

Fulham we’re the highest on 98%
We we’re level with Palace on 95%
Spurs we’re the lowest on 57%
While the majority of the premier league were around 75%
Don't know how we are comparing this season. I’m hoping we have brought it down a bit.
This is why the stadium is a game changer for us… we just need to get there.
The stadium brings so much more money - naming rights, bigger/ sponsors, other no footballing event income, much more matchday income. All this, as long as we’re not reckless the other way e.g offering too many players huge contracts, brings down those percentages. The loss of MSP and Megafon has had a massive negative impact on our finances.

Credit (reluctantly) where it’s due (reluctantly)… not many teams are doing that at St Jame’s Park - even with 11 on.

When I read that, it was because I was thinking that we don't have the money for it this financial year!
Maybe not currently but you’d hope they’d be some coming in before Friday 11pm.

I hope so because we definitely need more in.
I think we’ll bring another 3 in after Beto - using the 2 remaining loan spots and the Gray money. There’ll definitely be more outgoings too.

We’re not paying until the next financial year - maybe this is why deals have taken so long. Hopefully gives us the wriggle room for more deals.

Didn’t really play for Barca did he? Pretty sure the low level Matt would have been talking about would have been Malaga.
La Liga isn’t low level whoever you’re playing for - Malaga were a La Liga team when we signed him (well just relegated I think) and he was one of the top scorers in that season.

Sandro isn't comparable mate. He was a youngster on a free (even if he looked 40) who'd played at a low level. This guys played a couple of decent seasons in a very defense-orientated league and for a decent side.
I wouldn’t call Barcelona a low level! We signed him (for just over £5m - release clause) on the back of a breakout season for Malaga (?) in La Liga - think it was a relegation clause.
Back to Beto - was playing at a much lower level and working at KFC 4 years ago supposedly.

Jesus Christ, Dier is that bad I'd even prefer Maguire over him.
If we don’t get linked with him between now and Friday, I’d be very very surprised. It’d probably be nothing more than lazy journalism but we’re 100% getting linked!

He was always going to resurface when the Gnonto deal fell through
Yep - the potential permanent option (when Gray leaves) surprises me and makes me think we want to keep a domestic loan space free… cough Harry Maguire… cough Eric Dier…

So calm and classy on the ball - big positive from today. Keep him in - he’s the kind of player/age that only needs one good season and people are talking £40-50m. Even if his long term future isn’t here, we need to raise his profile by giving him regular football.

I still think we'll be alright, but I am sick of us throwing points away in the first few games every season because we're incapable of getting our important business done until the end of the window.
It's infuriating.
I think we’ll be alright but the threat of a points deduction in October would be a killer - more than -3 would send us down I’d fear.

Not in the Southampton squad today.

McNeil is in with shout for this one which will be a massive positive.
I am worried about how Pickford deals with Robinson’s long throws
