  1. I think Lescott's gotta be at the back and I'd probably have him partnered with yobo in the middle.
  2. Not saying he has to play like Cahill, I just think under Moyes' set up that we play our best football with high tempo pressing tactics and I don't think Billy has the physical attributes or work ethic to play through the middle in that kind of system. When we boss teams like we did Arsenal at the emirates last year, I think it has more to do with what we do off the ball than on it. Hope the kid proves me wrong cos I like him, but thats just the way I see it.
  3. If he can't play wide (which it looks as tho he can't), I really don't see a place in our set up for billy. I can't see him in the Cahill role, Cahills role off the ball is almost as important as his goal scoring ability, when we don't have possession he is constantly pressing, limiting the oppostions time on the ball which is so important to the way we play. Can we really see Billy doing something like that? And I just don't think he has the creative vision, composure or physical presence to play in CM in the premier and certainly not to display the likes of spud, felliani and rodwell. Its unfortunate becuase I think he has as sweet a left peg as anyone in the league, if we were in a better financial position he would be a great player to bring off the bench when the oppostion has shut a shop and we need a goal from distance. But in reality we can't afford to have a £5M+ assest on the bench.
  4. I am not so sure its a case of moyes wanting to play osman. When we were winning games at the back end of last season and had Donavon on the right, Osman was relegated to the bench wasn't he?? Maybe Moyes genuinely believes there are no better options playing out there, hence he even gave rodwell a shot. I still have the upmost faith in Moyes, and have no doubt he is the man for the job here. However what is really troubling is how we continually start the season poorly under him. Surely its something to do with his pre-seasons and something he has to be addressing. Although, despite results (and the newcstle game), I think we have preformed much better in the first month this season than last, which is quite depressing.
  5. a defensive midfielder is probably the thing we need least at the moment.
  6. we bled city 20 mil for lescott, can't see us letting peanuts go for 10.
  7. Surely a kid who could potentially be earning tens of thousands of pounds a week in a few years would not be stupid enough to get involved in selling pot and counterfeiting money??? The fact the other two guys arrested were so much older is werid too. Don't want to cast dispersions, but maybe he was buying drugs when the other two got busted and therefore been caught up in the possesion thing, either that or he is a complete moron. If its shown to be true, I hope the club show him the door.
  8. arteta is better than baines to, maybe we should chuck him into LB <_< How is playing Neil going to improve our set pieces, he hasn't taken any attacking free kick in his life??
  9. I reckon we sell Bilyaletdinov and get ourselves a nice new shiny russian!!
  10. did we really just bring Hibbert on?? WTF?
  11. as good as baines is going forward, he is getting beaten one on one far to often this season!
  12. http://www.iraqgoals.net/ch4.html back in english, only a matter of time before it goes down again tho.
  13. and another http://www.magedtv.net/ch2.html

  15. KING LOUIS!!! That was terrible defending, if saha missed it, would have been a tap into cahill.
  16. Should be working now. When the united game finished there will be way more streams.
  17. This one is good, if you can speak iraqi http://www.iraqgoals.net/ch4.html
  18. But you said our squad has improved and we have no less depth this year than last (more in fact), why do now not have the strength to beat villa and spurs who we finished ahead of last year (city are obviously a different story). I agree that we will struggle if we lose arteta, but he is the lynch pin of our team and every team has players they simply can't afford to lose (can you imagine pool going for 6 months without gerrard ), but we did a pretty admirable job in his absence last season. Who could we realistically got to be an able replacement for arteta, even saint moutinho would have been no certainty to be a success in the prem and he definatley wouldn't have been up to arteta standard at this point in his career.
  19. not once jags is back tho. Distan to LB and yobo and jags in the middle.
  20. I am happy with the transfer window, because I believe we got people in all the positions that needing strengthening. If you think about the team now (when all the injuries are back) we are very strong all over the park, and everyone has competition to keep their place. Without thinking about money we should have available, who do you think we really needed to bring in? Anyone we could have realistically bought in yesterday would have just been cover. Benega would have been nice, but we don't really need him, just would have meant that rodwell would have seen less game time. We have also improved much more than our rivals, barring city, which clubs have done better than us this window? Arsenal, united and liverpool are all markedly weaker losing some of their best players. Villa lost their captain and most influential player and replaced him with downing . Tottenham certainly didn't bring in anyone special and losing modric for an extended period has weakened them further. I don't get hung up on terms like 'net spend' becuase things happen behind closed doors thay we have no idea about, and postulating about them just makes you look stupid. At the end of the day the only thing we can truely judge the team on is on field performance and till that starts falling away I am happy with how the clubs being run.
  21. Why 'pot, kettle, black' are you inferring that moyes has to improve too?? ossie is the perfect squad player i think. harsh for the coach to have a dig at him seeing as how badly out of position he is being played.
  22. does anyone know if Johnny and pienaar played down the same side of the pitch when they were at ajax together??
  23. stupid thing is he has probably earned a massive pay rise by just sitting on the bench twiddling his thumbs. fucking city
  24. look at his response to getting a red for that tackle, what a prick.
