24 white winners out of 27 is very nearly 90% though, and the US is around 60% white. Perspective.

Unsure how to swap the quotes around.

Dunlopp is suggesting it's black people who have been discriminated against and the awards show over compensated by getting black presenters.

Yet the awards winners would correlate with racism towards Latinos. Whereas the people getting to present would correlate to racism against white and Latino. (Personally don't think there was any prejudice, although I do think most period dramas are shite).

Asians and "other" for lack of a better word would be expected to get only one. With that probability there's no reason to suggest racism.

The links provided below show the ethnic makeup of the members of the Hollywood Foreign Press (who vote for the Golden Globes) and the voters for the Oscars. For the Oscars, it is 84% white. For the HFP, the LA Times unearthed that there are zero Black journalists among the 87 voting members.

Again, equity and inclusion has to start from the top down. Otherwise it's just veneer and lip service that they're "creating a more inclusive environment that mirrors our society." If what the head of the TV academy says is true, that right now we have the most diverse selection of tv in history, why are the winners of awards still overwhelmingly white? Are we to believe that white people just make better art and that people of color don't?

    Golden Globes

    Academy Awards

3 winners out of 27 is 11.1%, which is in line with the US demographics 13.4%.

They didnt buy him.  They could have bought him, they could have made money on him ..... They passed on the option because they were not going to play him. He asked them not to buy him if they were not going to give him game time.

They are the facts based on the 2 articles.  No doubt you will try and tirelessly drag the shit out of that.  Feel free.... That's my final note on it to you.

They wanted to give real Madrid £30m so they could put James in their own reserves?

Well the show is almost over, and this most certainly will be a major story tomorrow.

I genuinely feel ill watching this.

You think any of the actors won purely because they're white?

Just had a quick look and most the awards have gone to period dramas which will have a less diverse cast.

If anything the bigger disparity is in having black presenters. There's three times as many Latinos in America and they've been for the most part ignored completely.

    James

    Rondon

Be half tempted to give Iwobi a go up front. He's got the skill to hold up the ball or turn his man one on one. His heading ability won't be close to DCL though so we'd have to play it more on the floor.

But are we playing that way because our CBs are dictating the way we play, I don’t think Rafa particularly wants to play with only 35-40% possession but with no leadership or decent pairing with our CBs is holding us back.

I'd say we need more of an experienced leader. Our centre halves get caught up the pitch too often, a more experienced player spots it and gets them back in position. If you're back four hold shape it makes it much harder to get through.

This wasn’t a test for the manager you can’t really blame him if he’s got 37% of the first team unavailable through injury, you could call that a failed test if he had 100% of the squad to pick from. That was more a test for the players available to stake a claim in the starting line up and to show how versatile they can be if required to play out of their normal position.

We got beat thanks to the regular starters although not helped by going 5-5-0. The players looked all over the place after Rondon went off.

Maybe Coleman might have done better for the third goal but the first two are on Digne (although Keane should take some blame too for the first one, caught too far up the pitch and made to look like a training cone yet again).

Is this the "talking down" post that you refer to. ... Or an intelligent exchange between 2 people expressing their experience and what worked for them.

Do yourself a favour.... Stick to misquoting less emotive topics rather than point scoring on shit you have no business doing.

Pretty sure you've just seen it as it was within those exchanges.

Point scoring? Go back and look who the little princess who started this was. Can't help yourself but constantly have digs. I shouldn't come down to your level but hey ho.

I think it’s ridiculous that he hasn’t made the match day squdtoday, surely even a half fit James is better than not being able to fill the bench ?

If we set up with a player behind the striker he should be the first name on the team sheet. Probably would have made the difference in the first half.

We proved once again, we only have one first team, we can not play without 4 first teamers.

Iwobi, awful, both fullbacks awful, Townsend everything he did well on Monday, he did badly tonight.

Gomes never mentioned when he came on, very disappointed,  there is a way of loosing and this is not it.

Then at 3 down we bring on 2 defenders, nobody is above criticism tonight.

Maybe DCL would have got to the cross from Gray but I don't see how any of them would have made a difference to stop their goals.

Iwobi was probably out best player in the first half.

Madness to play Gray as a ten when you've got one of the best in the world twiddling his thumbs.

Pete come on mate calm it down fella you don’t want the reputation that post is portraying trust me mate your better than that

So it's fine for him to sling shots for no reason and psychoanalyse me. We were discussing Benetiz yet he brings up Gerrard twice as he can't actually ever have a debate so starts strawmanning his way than admit he's wrong or actually give some weight to his opinions than merely spout them as if they are fact.

Ah I see Walsh bought Tosun but you alluded that Allardyce bought Walcott (I think that's what you said earlier).

On 16/04/2018 at 17:21, pete0 said:Alladyce was here one window and addressed two problems. One pace, Walcott, two a striker, Tosun

Im not a fraud in the sense that I don't get sacked from a prestigious job for taking brown envelopes....

I couldn't really care if everything I said was inaccurate about football (Lukaku retuning to the prem and resulting in a nice spirited charity bet, Bony who went from Swansea to man city and was crap and I thought he would be good.  Loads.

Sadly for you - there is an extremely common theme that you point blankly refuse to accept when you are wrong.... Your refusal to accept you are wrong drags threads on and on, this thread alone has seen many join and the basically disengage in sheer frustration of your gas lighting antics.

You are wrong, very often, that's fine, we all are ..... What isn't fine is that you can't recognise and accept it, that's not great.   You honestly can't see that you are obsessed with being seen as correct - you will take obscure views which are extremely pretentious, when challenged on them you then arrogantly proclaim everyone else is wrong.

I'm out.  See ya, in Rafa we trust!!!

Addressed the problem areas that we needed pace on the wing and an extra striker. His job isn't choosing which one. He also said we needed a centre mid (Walsh failed to bring one in) and a centre half (loaned one but he got injured straight away). Silva completely fucked the team by not getting Doucoure or a player of similar ilk and instead wasting the budget on Richarlison when we already had two left mids. The latter still hasn't been addressed unless you count Godfrey.

You're a fraud if you think you know anything about football. Am absolute hypocrite. Cry about Tosun not playing then use him not being good enough to attack a former manager. Strange thing is that manager had him scoring goals. Surely you should be moaning about the others for not being good managers and getting the best out of him.

You need therapy, projecting as always. I take responsibility when I'm wrong. I'm happy to be wrong as I've learnt something. You have serious issues, a brat who throws tantrums and tries to bully his opinions on others, ffs you were talking about addiction on here like there was only one way to go about it even though others said they handled it differently, you were a complete and utter shit show having a go at them. Genuinely feel sorry for anyone who has to put up with you in person.

Wait there a second .... Allardyce bought a player for near £30m who was of a mature age in a January window and he didn't think he was ready?  ....... And to our knowledge has never been ready

Ok.... You've finally convinced me, Sam Allardyce was a complete and utter fraud.

I'm no more a football expert than you or that gravy swilling slob..... However it appears I'm the only one comfortable enough to admit this and have no chips on the shoulder in that regard.

    End the thread.  Cheers Pete.

    Walsh bought.

If Alladyce was a fraud what does that make you?

Alladyce waited so fans like you wouldn't get on the players back. He took the grief rather than the player. That's good management. Alladyce also had him scoring goals. He had the player looking that well nearly every fan on here had him down to be our main striker over DCL the following season, you included.

Given your phenomenally bad record I think just about every poster on here knows more about football than you, nevermind a manager who has about 20 years experience in the prem.

    Like Steven Gerrard being shit?

Ive seen some whoppers in my time tbh Pete .....  But Sam Allardyce being anything other than a footballing dinosaur is pure flat earth shit......  That slob has his own gravitational pull that pins £50 notes to his big pie face.

Only thing dinosaur here is you bringing Gerrard up yet again as you can't form an argument with actual facts. You're a fucking joke.

Is fat Sam better than you as he acknowledged Tosun wasn't ready?
