  1. http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Hughes-to-maintain-Lescott-pursuit-article116889.html Cock I actually want Lescott to go now, to be replaced by Taylor (preferably, or Shawcross or Wheater), but I really don't want Hughes to 'win'. This particularly riles me: How arrogant does he want to be?! You don't automatically become a big club (certainly not much bigger than us, as he seems to be implying) because some arabs decide to make you their new toy for a while, you twat. How have Man City been doing for the last 30 years huh? And this: Because that's how it works you dick! Moyes decides who comes and goes, he's the manager. Show some fucking respect for him and our club, god knows I've lost every shred of it I ever had for you, and I'm sure Moyes has too. Great player, but clearly an absolute cnut.
  2. Hahaha, that Burger King one is fantastic!
  3. Haha, another spanish waiter at Liverpool huh!
  4. http://www.theoffside.com/world-football/e...m-in-world.html LOL, this is brilliant! I'm sure someone on here mentioned we should do this a few days ago. Maybe the powers that be actually take notice of us!
  5. Maybe - personally it looked like Baines played the ball to me, but it was obviously hard for the ref to judge that, It didn't make any difference to the result anyway.... I know I've mentioned this a couple of times already, but do YOU agree that Defour should have got his second yellow after 20 mins for that cynical foul on Saha, and if so do you think the result would have been the same without your best player for 70 mins?
  6. I do think it's a bit harsh we drew Liege to be fair - I mean we finished 5th in the prem and we get a team that's only just been knocked out of the Champs league by Liverpool, but Villa finish below us and get some bulgarian team nobody has ever heard of, and Spurs get in via the mickey mouse club and get Warsaw who are nowhere near the quality of Standard. Surely there should be some kind of seeding there?! Plus Liege should have been down to 10 after 20 mins. Who knows how that would have affected the game - certainly Defour played a big part in their first goal, and they definitely woudn't have been as dangerous on the counter, so the penalty incident probably wouldn't have happened either. Having said all that, if we think we're good enough to win the Uefa cup we should be beating teams like Standard Liege for fucks sake! The teams performances this season have been an absolute disgrace. Conceding at least 2 goals in ALL BUT ONE game this season is completely fucking unacceptable!
  7. Fucking disgraceful. Arteta needs to have a word with himself, he could barely find his own man 5 yards away. Jags is the ony person who's come out with any credit for me tonight.
  8. This is a fucking joke. We should be able to beat Liege anyway, but Defour, who's arguably been their best player, should have been off after 20 mins - he puts his hand on his head as he brings Saha down from behind with the ball nowhere because he KNOWS he's just got his second yellow, but once again we get stiffed by a ref! Hibbert is shite, get him off. Neville to RB, Castillo into midfield and Peanuts for Cahill. And a fucking rocket up their collective arses from Moyes!!
  9. Would you really rather have Young and Shorey for £9 million than Smith for £2 million? For a start, we certainly don't need Shorey with Lescott and Baines around. And £5 million for Young? He's no better than Neville at right back, so I don't see him strenghtening the team (I don't rate him at all tbh), and worst case scenario I'd say Neville RB and Smith DM is preferable to Young RB and Neville DM (Phil didn't exactly set the world alight playing there last season), especially as it'd also save us £3 million of our clearly tiny transfer budget!
  10. Totally agree with that post. If he's our only signing I'll be very disappointed, but for say around 2 million, and certainly on less than the 60k a week he's reportedly on at the barcodes, I'd be happy to have him. He's never been the quickest, so I don't think the broken leg has affected his game too much, and I think he showed at Leeds that he can score goals if he plays up front consistently, so I think he'll be good back up for the Yak, if not a perfect foil for him. Vaughn and Smith could work well together though, although the chances of them both being fit at the same time are probably fairly low Obviously he can also play as a battling midfielder, and while I don't see him as the answer to the problem we have in defensive midfield, I'd consider him decent back up in an emergency, and I'd certainly prefer to see him there than Neville.
  11. Awesome, hopefully by the time I get up tomorrow AJ will have gone, Moutinho will have been signed, and talks for De Jong and Milito will be at an advanced stage!
  12. I've never seen this guy play or anything either, but I really don't want us to sign him. I can't rationalise it, but for some reason I just think of Nyarko and Djemba-Djemba when he's mentioned. If we do sign him and he turns out like Essien though, I'll quite happiy eat my words!
  13. I know it's wishful thinking, but I would just love it if he actually managed to get fit and he was awesome/sort of ok for us next season!
  14. I'm afraid I would be very unhappy if we signed Chimbonda. His ability is not enough to outweigh his shit attitude, especially at our club where success has been built on team spirit. I'd only want us to sign an absolutely awesome RB if we do get one this summer, cos I'm fairly happy with Neville there and I don't want Moyes to have any excuses to play him in midfield! It probably won't happen, but as some people have said in the centre backs thread, I'd be quite interested to see how Joey would fare there with Lescott and Jags in the centre. As for M'bia...I don't know anything about him at all, but someone mentioned Nyarko in another thread, and that scares the crap out of me! He'd be missing for the Cup of Nations too. I'd much rather have Topal, although I don't really know why cos I know nothing of him either. Just get a better feeling I suppose. Actually, it would have been ideal to get Gilberto for cheap and have him groom Rodwell/Gosling to replace him for a couple of seasons. Not sure if there's anyone similar out there, certainly not prem proven anyway. I'd love Alonso actually, but that probably won't go down well! Albelda maybe? Incidentally, I would be very happy with fernandes for about 6 mill though. Maybe a Fernandes/Joaquin/Albelda Valencia triple swoop is in order!
  15. Well if Rangers want him he must be really good(!) Seriously, if he's making a decision based on "how much the coaches will want me in their team", if I were him I wouldn't bother coming to Everton cos he has no chance of playing regularly at centre back for us.
  16. I'd have him back on loan again definitely, for midfield numbers if nothing else (although on his day he can run the midfield), but if it came down to actually laying out cash for him, I'd rather have Huddlestone if the prices were similar.
  17. Well I drove past the real Harry Enfield yesterday. I know that's not strictly on topic, but I really want to get to 20 posts so I can play the arcade. Sorry.
  18. Yep, agree with that totally, add a quality wide man like Turan or Joaquin to those two and I think we'd be looking pretty good for next season. Someone has mentioned this before, but why do we keep having to buy back young players we've previously released?! If we do sign Johnson for £8 mill, that'll be £17 million on ex-acadamy players in the last year (Jags and Baines). Whoever decides which youth players are released needs a severe talking to!!
  19. I actually think he does have flair - like many people have said, he's brilliant at picking a pass, and when he gets the opportunity to shoot, he strikes the ball probably better than Laurent Robert or Patrick Berger did in their prime (f*@king hard!). If Moyes could get him to put himself about a bit, with his size, composure on the ball and passing ability, he could be a fantastic holding midfielder. The fact he's only 21, English and can play centre back if neccessary is a big bonus too. I see what you mean about him not being a flair player like Ramsey though, but they obviously play in different positions. I don't see it as having Huddlestone instead of Ramsey - why not have both?! If we got those two I'd be well happy! I still can't really see spurs selling him though.
  20. I'm not at all worried about Man City, but Modric and Dos Santos (and Bostock come to that) look like good signings for Spurs, albeit completely unproven in the prem. I know the same was said last season, but I do think they'll do well this time around and will probably be our main competition. I'm sure we'll make some good signings of our own though, and I'm 100% confident we'll finish at least in the top 6.
  21. Haha, no, I'm from London! I just find F1 a bit dull. Don't even get me started on NASCAR!!
  22. I used to be in ESCLA too, about 13 years ago now! I remember meeting Tony Cottee's brother on the train (spitting image of him). That was the high point really, because every match I went to seemed to be 0-0 Except for the 7-1 destruction of Southampton of course. That was awesome!
  23. It should possibly be banned for being massively boring. Apart from the crashes. I like them.
  24. It's all a scam to get even more money out of us in taxes etc. by trying to blame us for it. I voted myth, but I suppose it is actually true - it seems the earth IS warming up, but I don't believe it has much to do with us. We've had at least 4 ice ages since the earth came into existence, so obviously there have been warmer periods in between (where 'global warming' obviously occured), and this happened long before the appearance of humans. The climate does not naturally remain constant, the earth has been warming and cooling cyclically since time began - we just happen to be in a warming bit at the moment!
  25. I agree with Jamie, but I'd also add that he can't really tackle very well either. Or track back. He can sometimes hit the ball quite hard at goal, usually a foot over, but in three years that's the only thing I've seen him be good at.
