  1. My own opinion would be that in Football there is such a mix of emotions and loyalties that you very rarely get in other walks of life.We are Blues and as such we like other fans of other clubs will feel torn and often disloyal bordering on treacherous if we criticize people who we once lauded.Much of football success comes from timing.Having the right players, manager and these days money at the right time and for long enough to make an impact. At Everton we have had in my humble opinion one of the best domestic managers of my generation (im 43) and a team that although boasting few out and out 'big' names has performed and looked like a real team, really playing for each other and the gaffer. But football moves quickly, legs go,form dips and sometimes things just get stale. As a club we are treading water..just and that is a feeling that moves through the club.It is time for a change ..im not saying manager or players..but without money...that may have to be the case..just to add some new impetus and freshen the place up.That doesn't mean DM has suddenly become a bad manager or players have suddenly become no good. But for everyones sake sometimes a change is needed. There doesn't look as if there is any money on the horizon and the team is looking just plain tired and strained now.Personally I think a change could be in order...not becaue ive turned against DM but because it would help everyones cause his included.
  2. Hi all, Few months ago I told you all that my girlfriends little lad had chosen Everton as his team..he's 4 today and has stuck with the toffees. So I,as a tight yid (spurs fan)...went online and spent my hard earned in your club shop.... He loves his everton stuff and whenever we are in a sports shop and he sees the kit he points at the badge and the tower and proudly proclaims..''that is evertons house. As you know my lot are having a poor start to the season....lets hope both our clubs with there proud traditions and loyal fans can get back to where they should be... All the best Gav the yid and Conor the toffee
  3. Some of you may remember from a few months back how my girlfriends little lad had been introduced to footy..(by me) and had chosen Everton as his team.I'm a Spurs fan but thought ''what the heck'' its his choice, and him being only 4 would probably change his mind etc. Well nothing of the sort has happened....he proclaims he is Everton everywhere we go,has got me to print pics off the internet of the players to put on his wall and the other day according to his mum jumped out of bed and shouted '' Everton (little punching gesture) get in''. It's his birthday in September and I have brought him the home kit ... He keeps asking when Everton are playing next and is counting the days till the season starts on a chart on his wall.. Some of my mates have said I should have got him a Spurs kit...but he is really into his footy and Everton at the moment..so see no need not to nurture his passion....also as all fans know in years to come the club we support usually do their best to test our faith ... All the best for the new season ..... Gav the Yid...(on behalf of Conor the Blu)
  4. Hi guys ...I first logged onto the forum when my girlfriends little lad randomly chose Everton as his team....despite declaring his favourite colour to be red...thoughts of Arsenal made me sweat..Im a Spurs fan.But he is still happy declaring to anyone he meets that he is Everton and I have just got him a little kit which he loves to bits.....so just to say...well done for the 5th finish........long been an admirer of Everton and David Moyes...so once again..congratulations.
  5. Hi...i look at the forum because my girlfriends little lad declared himself..''blue'' a few weeks ago... interesting that some of you think Lennon would be a good addition.. As a Spurs memeber..i go every week home and most away..i see him week in week out...Last year he was awesome..seemed to have added a bit to his game in terms of crossing and finishing... Now he has reverted back to just being rapid..now im not dismissing pace out of hand..but that in itself aint enough on a football pitch...he hasn't really added anything more to his game...and although im sure he would excite fans when he gets the ball..as he has done at the Lane...more often then not he has no end product in terms of goals or decent crosses/final balls etc... Maybe you guys could bring him on more...id like to think we can give him a bit more time...but if the money was right I wouldn't cry too many tears if he went.... hope u lot can hang onto 5th by the way..or even pip the other lot to 4th spot....
  6. I am a Spurs fan..have been 30 years...and if he was my boy by birth I may have tried to influence him more..don't get me wrong he's been exposed to my team..but it's his choice..if he sticks with it..and keeps up with Everton then I'll happily buy him a blue shirt ..... good luck to you
  7. Thanks for the welcome guys... I'm not Conor by the way,the little fella is..I thought it appropriate to register him in his own name. This isn't just a suck up..I have no problem him following Everton..if he sticks with it...I often tell people I quite admire Everton,David Moyes and all.. You havn't had the money of some clubs.but, despite one dodgy year during your Champs league campaign have been consistent..I wish Spurs had been. Also you seem to have a good team ethos...looking in...not many egos on show..and Ive like Tim Cahill since he was at Millwall... Whenever I've been at the Lane v Everton ..always had some good banter with a lot of your fans.. So no worries with him following your great club....just thank god it wasn't Arsenal..especially with his red thing....was sweating for a bit..
  8. Hello, First let me say this is my first post on this forum...and I am a Spurs fan. My girlfriends little lad has just started showing interest in Footy..her ex wasn't into it at all. We've been kicking a ball about and he likes it when the footy comes on the tele.. This morning at breakfast we were trawling through some football stickers I'd got him when his sister announced he had chosen his team. With bated breath I hoped it was Spurs,I didn't want to push him..as long as it wasn't the gooners. He pointed to an everton sticker..now his favourite colour is red so i was a bit surprised.....but after much persuading and cajoling he announced Everton were his team... How long it will last who knows ..he's only 3..but I give my word I won't try and sway him away from his own choice....lol.
