  1. top signing this is. we currently have victor anichebe and jelavic. both unproven before they joined.. so you cant judge him. kone has won the eredivise twice, and has scored goals wherever he has been, and he absolutely destroyed us in the fa cup. bullied our defenders constantly. i do agree 5 mill is a bit much, but wigan would want to keep him. van persie was 29 when man u bought him, so i dont think age has anything to do with it, as the lad has an abundance of pace. i think this will be a shrewd bit of business and will support him as i do every other player. i constantly moaned about anichebe, but like many other fans this season, warmed to him, so people shouldnt be so quick to judge.
  2. Points to consider: Neil Lennon has an excellent win rate Vitor Pereira has won a title with an excellent win rate "We are the 6th best team in the country, we should attract more I could have an excellent win rate in Scotland I could have an excellent win rate in Portugal 6th isnt attractive to anyone who wants to manage in Europe. Roberto Martinez I believe has the necessary skills to build and progress us as a team. He got Swansea City to play attractive, attacking football who managed to gain promotion. He installed that same priority in Wigan, but has been let down by shoddy defending, 2 goalkeepers, [so no solidity], but has unearthed stars in Mcarthur, Mcmanaman and Maloney. I for one would be happy with Martinez, because I can be sure the reaction to Lennon, Stubbs or Weir would have been much much worse than the reaction to the crest.
  3. twitter is rife with pereira and his odds now as low as 2/1 on stan James. I hope this gets wrapped up soon. Can't be dealing with the usual Everton process of signing someone.
  4. vitor pereria not being offered a new contract newpapers in portugal are reporting.
  5. Jurgen Klinsman has gone from 16/1 to 12/1 and now he's 11/4 favourite?? Where the fuck have punters got their info from?
  6. heart says no. footballing brain says yes. its the same for rooney. heart would say no to him coming back here, but would we all take him. yes.
  7. ^^ hear hear. we need progression. we need to build on the good work moyes has done. hiring a newcomer or an unproven manager sends out all the wrong signals. look at spurs.. they finished 5th for 2 consecutive seasons. they dont employ someone within, they go to AVB, who was a proven manager. okay he didnt do well at chelsea, but he had experience of winning, and progressing a team. IMO. Alan Stubbs, Weir, Dunc is a bad move. Martinez seems the best out of the shortlisted bookie odds TBH
  8. just come from s-bridge. moyes very friendly toward stubbs at final whistle. seemed to talk for ages.. maybe thats where rumours have come from
  9. mancini can fuck right off. tactially shit against us for the past 2 seasons. Moyes owned the shit out of him, and we played them off the park. he couldnt manage a piss up in a brewery
  10. Twitter rumours of Stuart Mcall being approached today
  11. Vitor Periera gone from 25/ to 6/1 today. Id be happy with him or Martinez. Id even take Rafa! Anyone other than Neil fucking lennon!!
  12. Bisela is definately leaving Bilbao, as they've confirmed a new coach for next season. I would be well happy with Bisela. Great tactician.
  13. Marcelo Bielsa Anyone? Looks like he's leaving Bilbao end of the season. He did wonders with Bilbao last season, granted he's not done as well this season, but neither has Martinez and he's linked. Id love him here.
  14. haha. i agree with both comments. i have spent all morning researching who i would want and who i wouldnt: Want: Vitor Pereira: Watched a lot of Porto this season. Very rigid with his team selections and formation, same team almost week in week out. Savvy in the transfer market, and knows how to deal with losing big players, which we may have to :/ Same sort of mould as Villas Boas. Claude Puel: He's closing to getting Nice into the Champions League so I doubt he would come. European Experience. Frank De Boer: Knows how to win. Mourinho: Dont Want: All the names currently linked, aside from: Periera and Jupp Hecynckes
  15. i know this is unrealistic but this was a piece in the mirror in 2010 by Jose Mourinho: “Manchester United would be a great challenge for me. But Liverpool is not the club for me. I know why, but I cannot tell you. “Tottenham, Everton... Arsenal maybe. These are all fine clubs with very good managers. “You can dream of what happens in one, two, three or four years. Who knows? I cannot say, but I think you have an idea of what I think about. If for some reason he didnt go to chelsea... ahh we can only dream
