Well said Jimmy... Like other's have referred too, our squad is nowhere near big enough to compete in UEFA, FA Cup, Carling Cup and Premiership competitions at the same time... And not that I would usually take this as success is what we should be all about but getting knocked out of Europe early this season could quite possibly turn out be a blessing...from a player/team/squad management perspective.

Can we not get some decent news??? Please! I am an Evertonian living in Oz and let me tell you the Redshites over here are having a field day with the recent demise of our great club....a couple of seasons ago I recall reading an article which stated we were the 'Sleeping Giant of World Football' due to our clubs progression...But let me tell you right now we should be labelled the 'Sleeping Giant'. Even if we make signings today..tomorrow..are they expected to just drop in and save the squad? Something has to happen...and quickly....or we are fooked!

I really hope he and the club take the time to get this injury healed PROPERLY. After what went on with Cahill last season, we cannot afford to have Steven in the same position...like others have said the squad is small enough....so lets take a hit for the correct period of time to get him back fully fit! It will give one of the younger lads a real chance to step up...and whilst not the best scenario certainly promising from an experience gained perspective. COYB

I also agree...Spurs have talked up doing something for the past few seasons. And after spending more money than we could dream during those campaigns, they have done shite! Have some confidence lads, we will get a few new faces in before Saturday and should be ok until January...if that happens! Remember 05? Who would've thought 4th with that squad? But we did! COYB
