  1. When I first read that I thought it was a (sick) joke. Not that we can't win anyway, but: - Fellaini yellow card in the first 10 minutes - No chance of an Everton penalty no matter what - At least 50% probability they'll get a penalty - Cahill almost guaranteed a yellow at some point ..and that's the good news about Riley
  2. I'll always remember him fondly. In 2003 I took my then 11 year old son to the UK anbd watched Everton at Charlton - sat with the travelling blues. at the end of the warm-up, when the balls were being retrieved, he purposely hammered one into our end - and it landed in my sons hands. Greate souvenir to bring back to Canada - thanks Unsy.
  3. I'd make Barca slight favourites - they seem to be over their brief dip in form, and Messi is definitely the best player anywhere right now.
  4. Post on this one and occasionally on GrandOldTeam. For EFC news, the OS, Toffeeweb (but take anti-depressants first ), and Newsnow.
  5. It's obviously later than I realized on your side of the ocean ...at least I hope so Mike
  6. Agree with you Mike - I just like the sentiment expressed - I still think we can do some damage in the FA Cup and chase Villa and Arsenal without Arteta, nice to know I'm not the only optimist in blue.
  7. Agreed - it would cause me to hope they get relegated if I wasn't already there.
  8. Noticed this on BK (the site, not the forum - linked from Newsnow) - I endorse the sentiment: I have noticed an air of depression amongst the various EFC related web sites I visit. Understandable considering our injury situation, the main issue without question being can we really replace Mikel? We can ask people to play out of position, but can we ask them to run the show with such elegance and grace at the same time looking pretty damn good with not a hair out of place? But cheer up. For those of you out there who remember the 1985 team cast your minds back and rally with the thought of what happened to Adrian Heath mid season and how we took the news that his season was over. By early May we were champions and the team strolled around Goodison Park soaking in the adulation with all the time in the world, not wanting the moment to stop. From nowhere two of the players hoisted Adrian Heath into the air and they carried him passed the Bullens Road paddock. You couldn't have expected that the noise level could possibly have gone louder but it did at that point of time. Let's remain positive. Let's keep the enthusiasm going for a good run in the F.A. cup and live for the moment of not only lifting the cup, but live with the thought that two of the players remember Mikel's contribution to the momentum we have and we see Mikel being carried shoulder high and praises being adorned upon him. With this thought in our minds keep the spirits high, keep the web sites optimistic and let's channel this energy towards the players who surely must respond if they feel it too. Gwladys (27/02/09)
  9. Thanks for all the siggestions and moral support, guys. I came down to 2 choices: 1) Take the Everton badge off one of my old shirts (the One2One which I don't wear anyway) and sew it over the LFC badge 2) Paul's suggestion to wear another red shirt I've decided to go with #2, because no way to cover up the Carlsberg logo even in option 1. ...and wear my Everton training shorts. To be clear: I have no problem playing in red kit - have done so for several teams. It's the LFC and Carlsberg logos.
  10. Interesting that none ofthem mentioned Cahill in gthe "biggest threat" question. That begs for a Timmy two-goal performance.
  11. Not having much time to think about it, I compromised - I wore the shirt, but retained the shorts I arrived in - Everton training shorts. The weird bit is the guy who organized the kit isn't even an RS fan - he just liked the look of the kit, apparently.
  12. Last night I started playing indoor soccer (the only option here in winter) for a new team. I arrived for our first game and was handed my kit. Shorts and shirt. On closer inspection, there was a problem: - all red - Carlsberg logo - LFC badges That's right - RS replica kit (no doubt bootleg, but looks quite real). So what to do? Walk out on my new team, or find a way to put that stuff on? What would you have done?
  13. April 2007, I attended the first ever MLS home game of Toronto FC - and there were Everton banners on display outside the stadium - part of an agreement betweebn Everton and the Ontario Soccer Association. Sadly, it was the same day we'd just lost 4-2 to Man U after being 2-0 up, so seeing the banners actually deepened my misery that day:(
  14. With Cahill back this is a comfortable 3 points in the bag. If Pienaar or Ossie start, even more comfortbale.
  15. The only way I could vote is if you add some additional options: - none of the above - VDM - didn't put a foot wrong
