Oh and @Shukes I haven't once criticised him for being attacking and direct, its just that if there is no end product, or a consistent enough end product, or worse still if he is killing off chances, we as a team are no better off.
It's early days with him so that might well improve.

Sorry mate but it’s not the choices at all.
If Danjuma is running to the bye line and turns back… that’s a poor choice. If he runs to the bye line and hits it too far, that’s the right choice but poor execution.
There is not a world anywhere that I won’t disagree with you there.
I teach U12s how to play football and by all accounts I get 100% good feedback. I tell them all the time that I don’t care where your shot ends up…but play as I teach you and it WILL come! Decision making is more important than ability.
English mentality is what holds us back. Only we can change that.
I completely agree about decision making, its one of the most important attributes in any sport (or indeed life!).
That first half, Danjuma had simple decisions to make and he made the wrong ones. The 4 v 2 was the prime example because that was criminal, but he had another cut back on that he spurned, and he took a heavy touch on another occasion when we should have got a shot on goal. At least one of those should have ended up in the back of the net.
We wont get those chances every week and if he has to mess 3 up a week to get something right, then we will struggle more than we are. When we play a decent team and he barely gets a touch and continues to waste brilliant attacking positions then see how you feel.
Credit to him for going and going and I suspect the output will come at some stage but he is overcomplicating what should be simple decisions at that level of football, usually for his own glory too.

Really impressive start to the season from him.

For me he is our best midfielder. He still has loads to come and he still switches off a little but he has bags of talent.

Based on what I saw of the first half, my vote goes to Beto. He looks like the perfect player for our style of football and their defenders couldn't deal with him. Can't wait to see how he progresses!

Look at all the comments about Danjuma. He has had a great effort deflected behind. Been dangerous every time he runs forward with the ball.
But because he hasn’t scored, we want him subbedThis is why we have the repuatation as fans that we have.
Got hit by a great effort on goal there. But we’ve had enough chances to show that this game isn’t over by a mile. Let’s see how we come out the secobd half.
Its not because he "hasn't scored" its because his decision making has stopped the team creating chances and scoring goals. Fair play he gets in the box and scores the tap in but we should have been ahead at half time and won the game.
Attacking players that do well up until the final 3rd are largely useless. You need them to make the right decisions and show composure in the key moments. This is where attacking players win and lose games and IMO he lost us this game with his first half decision making. I haven't watched the second half so I don't know if he made up for it.
McNeil is a far more clinical player and the sooner he is match fit the better for our chances of staying up.

Awful from Patterson and Tarkowski. Clowns.
-
Get McNeil on for Danjuma.
-
Onana's attempt to stop the cross for their goal is a bit lazy too.

Beto is looking pretty good here. He is a real handful.
He really is!

I'm not sure what our defenders were doing there. Can't let any player in this league get that time on the ball in the 18 yard box. Too easy.
-
Is Danjuma just a bit shit? Overcomplicating everything.
-
Poor from Young. Not sure what he was doing. Decent (but expected) save from Pickford.
-
Gana with one of those perfectly weighted 10 yard passes...
-
Danjuma has to pass that. Should be 2-0. You can miss chances when you are 4v2.
-
Should have been a pen before that as well IMO.

I got chat GPT to write me cover letters and a CV. A clickbait article is 30s work. You can literally go to AI and say "write an opinion piece based on this tweet", provide the link and done. 30s work.
I read that initially thinking " what is he going on about, they didnt have the internet in the thirties" and then it clicked
It has been a long week!

Well maybe Dyche has said don’t go charging all over the pitch chasing the ball, but I prefer my reasoning he just hasn’t got the body to play that way anymore.
He still does it though. Completely abandons the middle of the pitch to close down a player already marked by someone else and then they just play the ball around him.

The thing with Iwobi is that whilst he was one of our most creative players, his poor play also leads to some sloppy goals against. Its a bit two steps forward, one step back with him.

Goal or no goal, some awful defending leading to it. Gana, Branthwaite and Myko all getting sucked in, not winning the ball and leaving massive gaps. They all actively made a poor situation worse.
Its a shame as we were playing well before that and in complete control.
