  1. I'm not going to get all pissed over Saha because Moyesy is atleast going for it with a 442. I was convinced he wouldn't.
  2. And damn right he shouldn't! I would be pissed if he didn't defend himself/the team as much as he did. However, I do sympathize with his lack of investment comments. This has been put through the ringer more than once, but, it surprises me too. I know there have been some difficult moments (Kings dock, Kirkby, the Fortress Fund drama) but we have been poised to give the bigger clubs a run for their money with some investment for a long time! If it doesn't come soon, we won't be able to keep (or get) the talent needed to sustain this momentum. You've got shit clubs, bleeding cash, (granted investment costs less) being snatched up. Everton needs someone to believe in us. But, it's not as if you all don't know this already.
  3. This one had me dying laughing. Too funny. I'm starting to warm up to the idea of replacing Moyes, however, not until we finish this season. There will be plenty of time for that when the campaign ends, but for now, he's our guy and we push for Europe.
  4. Of course we don't let Saha go for free, but I don't care how much we get. I'd just rather not give Moyes the option of picking him. Moyesy is an alcoholic and Saha is his booze of choice. I don't really think we need another striker, to be honest. Would I love a true striker, sure? But we don't have the money to break the bank. Seeing Seamus move up has really satisfied a lot of the creativity issues I've had. When he's had the opportunities, he has been the most creative guy within 20 yards of the goal. Hoenstly? I'd rather have them step it up then find someone else.
  5. How much you want to bet we send Saha out again? I liked the lineup against Chelsea, then, he puts Saha on top. Great. It just doesn't make sense to keep putting Saha out. This "striker by committee" is just crap.
  6. The grass is always greener, mates. Owen Coyle? The guy has done good things a Bolton - but it's not even January yet! So he's a little more attack minded this Moyesy, but if that's the bar, I'd hate to see who else qualifies. 6 months and Moyes goes from Sir Alex heir-apparent to a shite manager who could be replaced by Coyle? I'm not thrilled with the decisions he's been making, but to dump him now just doesn't make sense. Just as we expect more out of him, we must expect more from our boys in blue. I understand we're pissed, but I think a rallying striker will do wonders more than a new manager.
  7. I think we were writing basically the same thoughts, at the same time, Bailey.
  8. No Buzz??? Him and Cahill have been seemingly our only consistent quality for me. However, I do like most of this line up. I think our best team is still one up top - Yak (or Beckford) need to step up and take on that role! I was thinking that playing two up top, or at least two traditional strikers on the pitch, would be better based on our 60/70' subs. However, I just think it's a matter of intensity and determination. A tactical shift. I'd like to see Seamus come in for Arteta or Pienaar, too. Love the way he attacks the box and doesn't look for the first opportunity to pass the ball off.
  9. I think that question has a lot to do with why we start slapping our foreheads when we see the match day lineups week to week.
  10. Jawline? Are you kidding me???? Obviously it's the astronaut suit.
  11. If we're going to use Osman, I'd prefer him to start. he's just never struck me as a game changer off the bench, the way someone like Rodders can (even if I am a little bias.) I actually hope we move away from the CF role Cahill plays when he is gone. Not because I don't like it, he's absolutely killing it for us there. But I hope we play something closer to: Howard Neville - Jags - Distin - Baines Felli Coleman-Arteta (Rodders) - Pienaar Yakubu - Beckford I'm not sure we can afford to ask Bily or Ossie to get even close to what Cahill was doing in the CF role, It could make it a very bad month. Think we should just suck it up and come out with 2 on top. I'm with you about Becks. Althought, as I posted in the MOTM thread, I don't think Beckford's misses were sitters. The first attempt wasn't a bad shot, just a better save from Carson. The beautiful cross he blasted over the bar? A better striker would have finished it, but, still not sure it was a gimmie. Also want to point to when Beckford attempted to bike a rebound (I believe it was) in for the score after we were already down 3. I can't fault yak for not giving that, mostly because he might kill himself, but I like that he went there even while we were down. I also like how him and Peanuts worked together.
  12. I´m not even sure if Moyesy knows the answer to this question, atleast it doesn´t look it over the last few weeks. The question is: Who should our starting XI be? Who should we be rolling out? After the WBA match, I've had it with these mix-and-match squads. I know injuries are beyond any of our control, but there seems to be no consistency, even for in-form players! Moyes, give us your Bext XI, in our optimal tactical formation, week in and week out, however you think that goes. Who (and what form) do you think that is?? (This conversation seems to happen each week under the match days, but I was hoping to consolidate the discussion)
  13. Got to admit I didn't think I'd be seeing Buzz's name on that list with January around the corner. Glad to see it though. He's been great back there. Gave my vote to Peanuts, but it could've gone to Cahill as well. 'nuts was all over the place today (again, could easily have said that for Cahill as well...) Really like the way him and Beckford work together too. As for Beckford, I think he missed a great opportunity (even if we were already down 2 or 3 at that point) when he blasted it over the bar, but that first opportunity he had from Pienaar was a great save from Carson. Hibbert looked out of his league way too often. After Rodders came in, he had to show 'em how to tackle. Not what I wanted to see.
