codders78 got a reaction from markjazzbassist in Oumar Niasse
Silva was the Hull manager when they loaned Niasse so he has worked with him before. He will do for now as much more important areas we need to be spending money on

He is the breel deal this kid. His energy could be infectious

We all look like knobheads from time to time mate so don't worry about it you're not the first to make a mistake like that.

codders78 got a reaction from markjazzbassist in Joe Bryan
I go to Ashton Gate quite a bit with my missus as she is a big City fan and I have to say I have been impressed with him this season but he isn't really a left back, more a left sided midfielder playing as a wing back at the moment. During his loan spells at Plymouth and Bath City he was played in midfield but if he stays for next season it will be interesting to see how he fares in the championship when a bit more pressure is applied to him defensively, if of course he isn't sold this summer. City will be under no financial pressure to sell and want to keep their best young players so he won't be available on the cheap.
So for me it would be a massive punt on a player who whilst undoubtedly talented has it all to prove positionally and is yet to play anywhere near the standard of premier league. Issue is though if he blossoms and plays well next season then a few million goes on the asking price

codders78 got a reaction from Peter H in M'Baye Niang
Its 25 maximum and reading quickly some UEFA gumph I was wrong or at least they make no mention of players under 21 not being required to be registered. So PeterH is right

And £5million in wages per year, wiping out any profit from the fellaini sale. The good thing about being an Everton fan is you know you will be disappointed, its just a case of how often and how much

Reading red cafe and getting slightly annoyed. One good thing though. They dont really rate Baines. Cant see why they are trying to buy him. Man Utd supporters know fuck all about football.

codders78 got a reaction from BlueBlood81 in Fellaini & Baines joint bid
Interest is one thing a firm offer is another. Fellaini would look pretty stupid marching in and demanding a move only to be told no offer had been forthcoming. For me it works like this, they offer £16 million for Fellaini - we reject this offer but Fellaini makes it clear he want to leave - they come back with a final £20 million take it or leave it offer, we then either take it or reject it. The rejection sees us have a player who is unsettled the acceptance sees us lose a player for less than his true value

codders78 got a reaction from Bailey in Fellaini & Baines joint bid
For me its a big deal as they are attempting to unsettle our players and force our hand into selling. If Baines and Fellaini are interested in leaving, this offer could push them into asking for the move and weakens our prospects of holding out for top dollar. The supposed "big clubs" try these underhand tactics all the time to unsettle players and bully clubs into selling their prize assets.
It seemed like they tried to do it with Cesc Fabregas but you cant unsettle a Barcelona player (already playing for a top club) and can't bully Barcelona into accepting a bid

If the numbers are right then this is not just insulting to us as a club, it's derogatory to the players involved. In addition, Fellaini already knows he's Moyes 3rd/4th choice for his new midfielder after the other enquiries/bids they've made.
Moyes clearly has both players on his wish list - and who can blame him - and it's his new club's job to try to get them for him, but however hands-off he claims to be when it comes to bidding for them he will be all too aware of how those low-ball offers will be viewed at his old club.
Interestingly, from speaking to and reading supporters of other clubs, it's not just us who thinks £28m is insulting. I haven't had one person yet saying that we should accept the offer.
Personally, I wouldn't even consider the deal for less than £40m.

codders78 reacted to Cornish Steve in 3-4 players wanted, but who are your choices?
I'd put a different spin on this:
- Baines is staying
- Fellaini is staying
- Barkley and Stones are ready for the big leagues
- Three new players brought in
- One new player on loan
Even without additional transfer activity, this looks good.

codders78 got a reaction from Matt in 3-4 players wanted, but who are your choices?
Maybe he feels he has enough, maybe he sees enough in our youth players that he would rather play them than spend £5million on someone from the continent. Give them a chance and keep some cash back (if of course there is any) if it doesn't work out

That he will. 10-12 mill will look a snip in a few years and the commercial revenue would be handy for any club not tied to a stupid deal

Best of luck this season. A nice double over the red half would be nice!!

Wait til Avinalaff comes on mate, he'll give you a few answers
-
codders78 reacted to Avinalaff in Transfer prices - STOP NOW - before it gets truly out of hand
Seeing as we have 90 minutes to spare before kick off, I thought I'd point out the sheer and utter lunacy that is football at the moment.
Ronaldo demanding 600k per week.
Bale being touted at 145 million Euro.
These pricks need to knock it on the head, and knock it on the head now, before football truly becomes just a play thing for the stupidly rich, and then dies once they're bored.
We can't sell our damn club for similar money, and they want to sell 'one player'.
Our own transfer dealings in the past have seen us lose out on decent players because we didn't have a few mil to spare, and we are one of the richest clubs in the world in terms of the top 30 or so clubs, so what chance has the rest of the game.
What happened to the so called fair play rule? Leave any player who demands too much from a club 'without' a club. Hell, we were all astounded when they paid 1m for Trevor Francis.
50m for Suarez? 50m for Torrez ? The world is going bonkers, and the game is already nigh impossible for clubs to make legitimate profits.
