  1. Doing it in Scotland, and doing it in Russia are not quite the same as doing it in the Prem. Try all that fancy Dan stuff in the Prem and Nolan and friends will eat you up and spit you out.
  2. Did you know that if you press the control button on your keyboard, and then the + or - keys, your screen either zooms in or zooms out? In emails etc, you press control, then use the scroll button on your mouse. There ..... my need to tell some one about this has been achieved.
  3. I put him in my Fantasy team. We could do worse than buy this lad. I get most predictions wrong, hence my delight in awarding Liverpool first place lol. Having said that, I think they have taken big steps in strengthening their squad, and even Ferguson feels they are his biggest threat.
  4. Bin dippers Good question actually. I think it takes some thinking about.

  6. Hi Beardy. Is the pic the required size in kb and pixels? If you post it I'll run it through Photoshop for you and post it back, or you can send it to me in a pm.

  8. If he was the difference between achieving top 4, or even dare I say it, relegation, would you take him, or stand by principles? None of us know the lad so can't really judge him. I trust Moyes to make the right decision.
  9. I'd be open minded. The lad has a bad past, but we've seen that before with various players. If he deserves a second chance, then Moyes and Neville are the guys to put him on the right path. I'm gonna sit on the fence for now until we know for sure he's coming. Not much point in being uppity about signing a guy who hasn't asked to sign yet.
  10. Anyone into DIY or hobbyist stuff and playing with tools? If so, what do you make etc? I built myself a workshop recently and have been filling it up with various tools as I go along. So far, I've got everything from Lathes to Routers to Drills to Saws etc, sanders and chisels etc, but still need a few bits to be fully independant. I figured I'd eventually learn how to do woodwork and maybe build a guitar or similar. Doner a few bird boxes so far just to get used to a few tools, and refurbished the picnic bench. Can't believe how expensive wood is. Now I just need to figure out what to make. Any hobbyists in the house?

    Hi

Hi lads. Hope you're all well. I used to post here as efctaxi many years ago. I still keep in touch with a few lads here. I don't really post on any forums now as lost interest, but I read this one now and then and sometimes nsno. I was going to rejoin last year, but decided against it, as I'm not a taxi driver, and don't want to use the old name as it just brings back bad memories of the job, so declined the admins kind offer of using the old name last season. My stance on the username is still the same, so I figured I'd say hello and save the admins from a headache lol. Avinalaff is a much more accurate description of my intent here, and anywhere else, so it's Avinalaff or bust I'm afraid. How long I stick around is really up to you guys, but I'm kind of cool either way. We all had a good crack here once, so there's no reason it can't be the same again. What say ye?
  12. To be fair to Anichebe he's had to contend with injury, and playing a bit part role in the team behind preferred strikers. I don't know too many lads of his age that 'don't' have attitudes. He was class in Europe, but always as a sub, and he has always been way down the list of preferred strikers in a team that usually only plays one. He has a lot to offer, but that can only come to fruition if he has the starting slot in a team every week, and he won't get that at Everton. He needs to move away if he will realise his true potential, be it on loan or permanently. For me, fans are a little hard on the young lad. (ps, I find it difficult to post at the moment. Is it just me? It says 'saving post' but seems to time out. Often I have to refresh and re-post. )
  13. Well first off, they probably wouldn't, as he is probably their most consistent player, but it would be something that I 'personally' think could be a good deal for both, if we were to get cash on top, as they would then have the Center Back pairing of Jags and Lescott, and we would have a steady defender, who is also Fellaini's mate, hence keeping Fellaini at Goodison, and have a few quid to buy another player. It won't happen, but I'd rather it were that, than a straight cash deal for Arsene. Arsenal are probably the team we have best chance of catching.
  14. Last year, Jags was poor in my opinion, and I would have no problem in selling him for the right price, as Heitinga would slot straight in, with Yobo as good cover should he stay, but I don't think it is good for morale to see senior players go. It would be a shrewd move on City's part to take Jags, as they would be reuniting one of the strongest partnerships, so I wouldn't rule that out just yet. It would be cool if Kompany came the other way as a sweetener, as it would settl Fellaini too. I don't think single defenders are that important compared to their role as a partnership. Having good partnerships is key. Nzogbia is good, but there are many others at a fraction of that price which could be useful for us. Hopefully our young players will step up.
  15. I like the example you give, but it isn't quite correct. We didn't get the best bathroom, or kitchen. What we got was the best builder, and asked him to create the perfect home on a shoestring budget, which he did to be fair to the guy. The problem we have is that fans are saying 'Come on, hurry up, we want to move in' because we can't wait for the finished article, and we then get frustrated and worry that it will never be finished, when strictly speaking, we should just let the guy get on with the job, and when the work is done, it's done. Last season, everyone moaned that we didn't really bring anybody in of note, but once again, Moyes came good, and we now have Beckford, Mucha, Gueye, Velios, who will no doubt be worth 50 million each in a few years knowing Moyes. We also saw the birth of Seamus Coleman, and Distin proved to everybody just how right Moyes was to buy him. Everyone was shocked at him buying Saha, then Fellaini, but both have had the fans excited and shouting their names. Only injury has caused us ill luck. We have so called 'World Class' players in our squad, yet they don't always perform. Arteta is a good example of this, as was Cahill not too long ago. Jags has been below par, and Bily is only just finding his feet. We had a dejected Dutchman to contend with too, and injuries a plenty. Moyes always finds a way though, even if it isn't silverware. We don't need Nzogbia. He wouldn't bring much to the table that we don't already have to be fair, other than a big wage bill. Just look at how many targets we have failed to land, and other clubs have spent big money on, and then look at just how mediocre these players have been for their new clubs. Then look at the success stories we've had, and how we all scratched our heads when the same players arrived. We don't need gold plated taps costing a fortune to have a great bathroom. We just need something that can be polished up, and look just as good. Moyes is footballs answer to Laurence Llewelyn Bowen.
  16. It's probably more a case of 'can we continue to be better than the teams below us?' v 'can we become better than the teams above us?' If we don't spend, will the teams below us catch us up? If we do spend, will we qualify for Europe? Why spend if the answer to both of these questions is no? If the answer to both / either questions is yes, then that's a different matter. Personally I think that we will need to replace our older players soon, with new talent that will work their asses off, but for this season, we can get by, and see if we can't bring in the young lads. We will need luck avoiding injury, but luck is all we can ask for if we don't have funds. If anything, I'd like to get shut of a few players in January while they still have a few years left in them. For now, I'll keep the names of said players to myself lol as it probably wouldn't be popular with the majority.
  17. It would be quite a coup ... ahem. I don't think City would do us any favours unless there is something in it for them. It's nonsensical on their part. We are already one of the teams sniffing around the European scraps, so I can't see any reason why City would make us stronger. Why do they care if Johnson doesn't get games, or anyone else? There are players with bigger names than Johnson in their team sat on the bench every week. City are not yet an established top 4, and they'll be relying on having a great squad. Johnson is good cover for them. Next season will be as big a battle as any other, and Liverpool look like they'll be a bigger threat next year too. I'd take him today, but I think for us to get him on loan would mean we would lose one of our key players in return.
  18. I wouldn't play 4-4-2 in the Prem. For lads who like discussing formations, this is an interesting read: http://www.soccer-training-guide.com/soccer-formations.html
  19. Trust in Moyes - after all, he was the one who found our great players in the first place, and if they go, he'll find some more. We don't have a single player that would reduce the team to a relegation battle should they leave, but if our manager were to leave, it would be a much more worrisome scenario. The trend with all our players is that they took a while to find their feet. We have lots of guys still to find theirs, and others who need to re-find them. If they all find them at the same moment, we will have quite a squad. Every other team is buying because they need to. Everton are in a better position, which is just as well considering our financial situation
  20. If we don't lose anybody we still have room for optimism. The fact that we always get it together eventually shows we can dominate most teams in the league on our day, and against the bigger sides our results are improving. Beckford should be quietly confident now, as should Coleman, and we might see a bit more from our young players. Moyes just needs to have us playing decent stuff by the time we face the first match and we should get off to a better start. We're currently joint top of the league as it stands now, so all to play for. I want to see all players playing for their places. If you play poor, you sit down. We can't have favourites. Players should be picked on merit and current form. If we do that, we can challenge for Europe once again without having to worry about bringing in players. Our squad is already very good. Chin up lads.
