I also think DCL is our best striker just don’t agree that we should stop using Beto and for the record DCL has also been guilty of missing quite a few sitters of late

He has missed a few, but I wouldn’t call them sitters. Come on… you would have bet money on a ten year old to get that on target. I honestly think Dobbin or Chermiti would have scored those chances, I wouldn’t have expected them to score the ones Dom missed.

Time will tell I suppose. Beto will either stay here and make an impact… or he won’t and one of the others will step up.
If either of those happened I would be happy.

Thought he looked more of a goal threat than DCL in twenty minutes than DCL has in the last 20 games tbh

    Honestly?

He literally had two clear easy chances and somehow managed to clear rugby goal posts.

He was given chances I agree. But that wasn’t due to him at all, that was due to other players creating the chances. He was a million miles away from converting them.

I respect your opinion mate of you think he is anywhere near the standard. Myself though… I’m think Dom is light years ahead of him and would like to see others given a chance ahead of him. He isn’t our future at all.

  3. We have to stop putting him on the pitch. It’s ridiculous. The armchair fans are even calling for him to start before DCL now.
I get he isn’t at this level, and that’s not his fault. But running like a headless chicken after a ball every now and again is fooling people into thinking he works hard.

I watched him yesterday not even bother to go for easy balls and that’s not acceptable. And his pathetic attempt/attempts to stop the cross for the goal were laughable.

Imagine if Dom missed the chances he missed. Our fans would be relegating Dom to non league status for those misses.

We need to be bringing either Dobbin or Chermiti into it now.

Not sure mate, I must have missed that. As I said though none of them have been good. I suspect he was carrying this knock which explains why he hasn’t quite been his buzzing self.

Hopefully Onana can get us ticking on the ball though..

We’ve been finding it hard to play through them. Hoping that Onana can give us a bit more energy now and try to drag us up the pitch.

Not from what I’ve been watching. None of them have been great but his passing has been woeful & just is not interested in going forward with the ball. Also, he can’t get close enough to any of their players to knick the ball.

No doubt it’s Ashley Fucking Young who comes on first

Wasn’t it Gana who layed the ball right across thier penalty area twice to Doucoure from throwing a to put us right at there door?

But then inevitably the ball was played straight back to Tarks. Drives me nuts. Garner to. Always sideways.

    Surely not.

    Most definitely.
tackles in our box, moving the ball forward, passing the ball into thier penalty area.
    best player by far.

Would love to challenge our fans to find the stats on our players passing. And have a friendly bet that Gana is top three at the very least.

I know Dyche won’t do it but I would be bringing Onana on for Gana at halftime. Hasn’t been a good performance at all by him.

Surely Gana has been the best player on the pitch?
    Everything has gone through him.

It’s Garner and Doucs that are hiding again. Take one of them off.
Preferably Garner… terrible so far. Slowing everything we do down.

We do put crosses in usually 15-20 yards from the byline there harder to score from and easier to defend, we don’t seem to get to byline in games anymore where DCL can run in on to the ball. Why I don’t know 🤷‍♂️

    Rom’s just answered it.

I have been doing this in the kids training recently.
Showing them how to run to the line and pull it back, the stay behind the ball and are now finding out how easy it is to meet a ball rather than have to step backwards to receive it. How pro footballers haven’t worked this out is beyond me.

  9. His Pickford impersonation wound me up. We worked out of defence fast and had momentum, the ball came to Onana and he completely killed it and sent it right back. A few players had a moan and he held his hands up and said calm down…. Becoming a proper scouse!

  10. Young and Harrison are just not at this level. Harrison look a like Davies used to… runs a lot, works hard…. But absolutely no quality.
Young has obviously a football brain on him, but his body just doesn’t seem to know how to link up with it. Past it and needs to look into coaching or deliveries.

  11. Going to be wildly unpopular here, but I’m changing my mind and thinking let’s cash in.

I know he scored last night, but was it just me that thought he just slowed us down? He will only ever play a safe pass, never tries to thread it through. He is just so safe it slows our impetus down. If we could get 70 for him, I would snap there hands off.

And now we have Garner. I think Garner is going to be Gana’s replacement, or could be if we cashed in on Onana.

yet still you see people slating him which seems to always be the case.  I saw someone suggest he was our man of the match on Twitter and got a response that he was responsible for both goals and gave the ball away everywhere!

I think he's done much better under Dyche where he's getting to press higher up the field a bit further away from danger but also disrupting opposition play and creating opportunities to win the ball back nearer the opposition goal.

I thought he was very good apart from the usual moments when he gets a chance to shoot! :D

It’s because people watch him waiting for him to lose possession. Once that happens they feel validated.

He is generally our most accurate passer of the ball, and the one that will link play between defence and attack.
Another one of those that you miss more when he isn't there.

  13. Well deserved point there. We battled and worked hard, just lacked quality.

It felt like we matched them on the pitch all game.

Doms starting to look sharper as well. Looked more progressive today.

Was good to have Gana back, even if we have to put up with the odd shot. He make our middle look a lot stronger.

We just need to be a bit braver with the ball. But all in all a good performance.

    Would have Richarlison back tomorrow.
