Didn't we have a 12 month deal that we would stay away from Leicesters players after taking Walsh? Thought I read that as part of the deal.

Yes I have watched him score a few with his head, especially for coming through the ranks for England, he was one of England's weapons in the air. But I do agree he seems to be very hesitant to go for them these days, not sure why as I do believe he is good in the air. Still think his weakest point is by far his tackling though ;-)

Watch when he does. He's not dreadful in the air at all. He rarely loses a header. His problem is in his confidence, he either doesn't jump down to being instructed to not getting into challenges or he wins the majority that he does challenge for. There a difference in not being good at something and just not doing it. This is where I'm hoping our new manager will bring out the best in Ross.

People who have experienced pre seasons before will already know that we usually have two different squads other than two or three players that the manager needs to look at more. It's not unusual to see our more senior members not in a squad as the manager wants to fit others in.

Put Ross in a position to win headers, he is actually very good in the air. One of his points that people often underestimate due to him scoring occasional worldies.

Most of these players were retired by 87.

I keep saying it but wages are more Important than the transfer fee if you want to take the next step.

But is he? Or are we all listening to tabloid rumours again. What's the club said about it? Usually when an official offer has been made the club make some noise to. Not saying this is the case, just that we shouldn't just listen to media and make that judgement. Would rather listen to the people that watch him..like his own teams fans, who seem to think he is a hard working under rated player.

We're talking about something so obvious. Of course teams who spend a lot will generally win more. But what our fans are saying is that we don't want to throw money around for the sake of it. If we're going to spend, then spend smartly.

But isn't it saying that we have agreed with the club and now need to agree to personal terms? And also that he has been away until this week, suggesting that we haven't even spoke with him.

Been very impressed every time I have watched him play. Good hard working player for me that can create chances. Would be a solid signing.

It's self confidence not his footballing brain that's off. As a teenager Ross was known for being light years ahead. His problem has been since he broke his leg, he trys way to hard to impress and it stifles him. We will see Ross take a giant step very soon.

Ross is the reason why I won't be too hurt when we don't get Mata. He has the ability of filling that role.

This excites me much more than any new signing. Can't wait to see the real Ross Barkley stand up.

Wasn't singleing him out...or didn't mean to. He jas struggled to get up to speed and your right, he needs to work hard this summer.

They seem to rate him really highly. Nice to see fans showing disappointment without the need to spout poison. Good fans over there.

Never really understood the fitness thing. I remember watchibg mates towards the season and feeling that we were much fitter physically.....just didn't have the desire or heart. Always believed it's an excuse for a top of the game premiership footballer to be able to blame a manager for his fitness. Remember Owen Hargreaves?

Mustafa isn't that good though. He wouldn't be a first team player for us now. Dier was never ours to let go.

Saying on SSN that he's nearly completed his move to Boro.

My biggest regret is that he is going to see our club as the club that ruined him. I hate anyone to view us that way. I wish he could have a quick purple patch that earns him a move away.
