Remember moyes when rodwell scored those two in the Europa tie? He didnt know he had it is his locker...

Ironically sheedy takes shooting practice, as much of a legend that he is, he was dead ball specialist. What he had you can't teach. Pure natural ability.

I am also aware of the fact we do situational coaching, I.e baines will practice shooting exclusively from angles. Not too sure about that, sure focus more on areas you are likely to be but for me shooting is one of the most instinctive skills there is and we should encourage that very nature.

The thing is about Barkley that is really exciting is that, physically, he's like Rooney - way ahead of where he should be.

You look at Baxter, he's probably got all the skills to make it at this level but he's a runt and is probably behind in his phyical development. But Ross is built like a man already and looks like he could cope with the hustle and bustle of the PL.

So was Ossie and a couple of loan deals did him the world of good. Jose will come good, its a gut feeling....

Fortunately physicality has become less of an issue in recent years, something John ebrell discussed with me over a pint (get me name dropping) - he thinks it's better for the game that the viera esque dominant midfielder can be outplayed by the tippy tappy style of barca. Not to say that being bigger is better, but if you are in a team where 20 passes per minute ain't the focus, it's certainly better to be strong. Which I would say is our category.

Osman wouldn't be the tidy footed player he is if he was 6ft at 12st. Horses for courses.

There's not many young players I rate better than jack wilshire at the moment, on twitter he encouraged people to follow Jose and stated he's a future England international. Shane Duffy rates him too. Is physicality preventing him making the final stride? Maybe. I for one hope to see those hopeful posts from 2005 onwards about him come to fruition.

Following Tony bellew, it seems he's close to Jose and he has followed a tough training schedule pre season. Fingers crossed this is his year.

Iv heard quite a lot about him recently and it seems like he is starting to play through the centre of midfield, as opposed to on the wings. On one of the match reports I read the other week, it sounded like he was pulling all the strings, which is good to see.

From what I have read on twitter he seems to have matured and recognises that this is his year to break through. Good luck to him.

The thing about Barkley is, he excites when he touches the ball. I watch the DC game and for the first half he made some silly mistakes but for every one of them he made some unbelievable passes for a player of his age. Obviously struggling for fitness but he is exciting. Baxter is quite the opposite, I don't get excited by him and he seems to lack pace. I honestly don't believe Baxter will force his way to the 1st team, where as it is inevitable that Barkley will.

I also thought McAleny looked like a good prospect when he came on, seems to have something about him.

Barkley's name is going on my away shirt :) (I have Daddy on my home one)
