Moyes

So Moyes is convinced he needs £30 million plus each year just to compete with the likes of Man City, Newcastle and Spurs!!.....Well David, but for some bad luck with injuries and a loss of form by some of our better players this season, we would be way ahead of those three mentioned clubs.

Of course if we had more money we could be buying players with the talent of £20 million Robbie Keane  ....where as there are a few players around scoring for fun who would cost a fraction of that!.......It's not how much you spend David it's what you spend it on and how you use those players.

Today for instance, what's the odds on our man of the match being a player bought for under £5 million ?

Plus Moyes wants expencive superstars at Everton, has he as yet shown the guts to drop star players when they are not performing?....that could be a problem!

If Anichebe scores the winner today (against Villa), or for that matter Ossie or Cahill, then to hell with spending money we haven't got.

For example how much for the next Lee Carsley......a player from the lower divisions, with something to prove and the talent to do it.......or we could spend a fortune on a superstar who can't do it in the Prem or unsettles his team mates.

Money or no money david, you are the man in charge.......just do it!

Blue 250 - Based on what Moyes has achieved with next to nothing don't you think he deserves to be given the money? A chairman is supposed to support his manager, especially when they've earned it, and Moyes can't be expected to achieve miracles all of the time. Eventually all of his hard work will be ruined because of our lack of funds because we keep needing to sell players, that's not good when we have a tiny squad.

I do think Moyes should be given any available money, yes!......Do I think he should be given mega millions that we haven't got, to buy unproven players, who might add nothing or prove usless, no!

I think yourself amongst many others have questioned his ability to drop his star players, I was only highlighting the fact that if he spent big would he be able to drop those stars!

Since Rooney, have we had to sell players, just to buy others?.......Carsley, McFadden and AJ surely left us for other reasons.

I don't want all his good work thrown away.....loosing games, through bad tactics and bad signings are more likely to do this than not being able to buy superstars.......LOOK AT MAN CITY.....AND LOOK AT HULL CITY!!

If we haven't got the funds then questions need to be asked of the chairman and owner, he should be able to provide the funds necessary to at least spend anything. This summer we effectively spent nothing, that's just not good enough for a side that finished 5th and got all that Sky money. Moyes has his flaws, god knows I've pointed them out, but he's being treated unfairly by the club IMO.

the three examples of newcastle spurs and man city are important ones, Newcastle are in turmoil but if they get sold they will the funds and there not losing games as of late, theyre just not winning them. Newcastle always finish mid table but we have bounced up and down from season to season. Moyes is on about consistent finishing. The only way to challenge the big four is to consistently finish just below them so that when one does slip up and one always does, arsenal have done it this season, there within spitting distance.

Man City now have billions to buy whoever the fuck they want, and everyone has a price, so only an idiot will think man city won't soon have half a dozen big name players at the sacrifice of some of lesser players, and Spurs have a manager that has completely reformed the team and is not short on cash. Both teams will rapidly increase their pursuits to climb and will be a threat in future seasons.

Moyes needs to spend 30m because of situations like this, yes he can spend nothing and get the best out of it, but look how small our squad is when we just get cheap options. Look at the quality of players those 3 teams have at disposal in front of goal (Ameobi, Martins, Owen, Pavyluchenko, Bent, Campbell, Elano, Benjani, Robinho, Jo) compared to us (Saha, Anichebe). If moyes had 30mil we could afford Tevez, or Podolski and Love, or Hunterlaar or Arshavin. Proven strikers at their peak that would net us goal after goal. If Moyes is going for frees who've we got to choose from (Fat Ronaldo, Heskey etc) people who won't get us goals.

Having money opens up a market to players of world-class quality and to say that everton is world-class and can compete with teams that can fill their squad with these players is absurd. We can get 5th, but we won't win uefa and we won't finish higher with the size and quality of the squad we have. Manure's reserves beat a full strength blackburn, we simply don't have the size of squad to field a team like that.

There is no denying the bigger teams have more dosh and thus better players, there's still football to play, work still has to be done and you're not guarunteed victory but it's a lot bloodier likely to happen with big names in your squad, that much is self evident.
