John came through the Cambridge United youth system and made his first team debut at the age of just 17 before joining Everton three years ago. He is donating his shirt to be auctioned to raise funds for United's Youth Development scheme, as part of the current 'Walk for Equality' campaign to raise funds and awareness. Explaining why he is pleased to support Youth Development's efforts, John said, "I can still remember the day I heard that I'd been invited to join one of the development centres for Cambridge United - it was the most exciting news as a kid.

 

"I learned so much from different coaches over the years and progressed as a player under their guidance. I have a lot to thank the development scheme for, and offer my full backing to them in their quest to raise enough funding."
