MikeO
Hmm...just concerned that if I post a pic of myself the women on here might not be able to restrain themselves and may set off for Devon to search for me...it's a burden I face every day I'll have to think about it.. This one was taken on a walking holiday in Scotland last year. Was a bit misty on the mountains so the photo is not that clear. .... ... .. . ............................... This one was taken on another walking holiday 2 years ago in the Lake district. (do a lot of walking/climbing these days to keep as fit as i can). Not too bad for an owl arse pensioner . Claire
The only time ive ever been proper walking was on a school trip in Snowdonia two years ago I hated every minute of it I broke about 4 nails, my hair went frizzy and the sheep stank! And my mate fell over and broke her ankle and none of the teachers phones or walkie talkies had signals so our teacher had to try climb back down for help my mate ended up being rescued by mountain rescue and we had to try and get down before it got dark. It was the worst weekend of my life!
Bill
You obviously forgot about the GUIDES/SCOUTS motto................ Be Prepared. THATS NOT A DIFFICULT WALK, THEY HAVE PUT A CAFE AND A GIFT SHOP UP THERE NOW. You can get trampled on with all the wekenders who come out in their Droves, 3 or 4 kids with mam and dad, some of them even pushing prams. TOO COMMERCIALISED FOR ME. GoldfishMemory
I went up in the hills somewhere in the lakes to study rivers for my geography Alevel and should have gone prepared. Got up in the mornin and the sun was cracking the flags so i decided to wear shorts and carry a light back pack (towel, waterproof, water, food & school equipment). It wasnt sunny up the mountain and it started raining thank fook it stayed warm while i got soaked. I ended up eating my dinner with my towel wrapped around my legs and when the inevitable happened and i slipped in the river while measuring the flow rate i had nothing to get dry with Geography field studys, nearly worse than Biology field studys but we did have some funny drinking sessions in the nights
Bill
Goldfish said...............but we did have some funny drinking sessions in the nights. ............................... Yeah, after a day scrambling over the hills, most of the enjoyment is going down to the local village pub for your Evening meal, and a few scoops of the amber nectar, exchanging stories of your days escapades with other like minded hikers/walkers/climbers. Some funny stories, some not so funny, but some great laughs and a very enjoyable way of relaxing at the end of each day. I luv it. Mac
Licker, for some reason I never had you pegged as a walker (IMO the most fun you can have alone with your clothes on), fantastic spot mate. What a handsome bunch you all are, mine was taken some 15 years ago, still can't get my digical camera to play nice, soon as it's sorted will give you something to keep the kids away from the fire with. Pat
For the uninitiated here's a Pat From March this yr. I used to have loing hair down past me Ass ( like 3 mnths ago), however It was felt it didnt luminate or even partly bring out the beutiful "Bag's in Bag's under the Night shift eyes"....So I shaved it of.......... only to discover that those lovely naturtal auburn flecks that once ran thru my ponytail, have been repalced by this thatcy thick Greyish shiote regrowth that seems to be spreading from clumps in to patches...!!! I really dont wont to be nearing 40, however the essence of youth is visibly slipping...
