Pienaar really shone in the second half , and gets my vote .

A mention for Jo also , who I thought was very good today .

Defence , including Neville also played very well . Pleased for Jacobsen .

I'll start the ball rlling, Pienaar, been our most consistent performer for a month or two now and MOTM for sure today. Would be surprised if he gets less than 90% of the votes.

Voted for him with 20mins of the game to go :) .

Felly, was an absolute joke. Piss poor passing, sulky bastard, zero pace.....I just do not see it with him at all. Did grab a goal, so I'll give him that.

He needs to pass more firmly I agree , but to be fair EW , you haven't had many nice things to say about the guy since he arrived , and he has played very well on occasions .

Pienaar was by far the star player yesterday. Excellent all round performance capped with a goal and an assist. Great to see him all over the pitch, his goal was through the centre and he popped up on the right to supply Fellaini for his. Piennars link up play with Baines has been a real success this season, if only Baines could improve on his crossing then that would be some potent attacking weapon. Lets hope all that is saved up for May 30th.

Why. ??? if he has been consistently getting votes for decent performances why is it silly.

Maybe now that arteta and jags are not available should we cut the competition short and leave it as it is.

Not so silly that somebosdy less fancied should win. He earns every vote he gets, not like some others who get votes just for being in the team.

If 300 of our members suddenly decide to vote next week , and Castillo plays a blinder , and gets their vote , he will then be our ' voted ' player of the season .

Go figure :D

Fellaini has won the most man of the matches .

Jags currently has the most points , but has won far less motm's .

The best players for me this season have been Fellaini , Jags , Pienaar , and Baines in no particular order .

Arteta and Cahill played well in patches , and the rest have played well , but haven't won too many votes .

But he has not consistently been getting votes. He has overwhelmingly won a couple. It would be a joke if Pienaar won the competition this year as he has not been our best performer throughout the year, its just that he has played his best games when other people have just been average so on certain weeks has raked in a huge percentage of votes.

Again, if anyone can come up with a plan then let's hear it.

3-2-1 points for the top three, which we used to use and has been suggested again, is wrong for a couple of reasons in my view.

First, it wouldn't be enough reward for truly stand out performances like Pienaar's, which you do get with the current system.

Second, MOTM in a dire performance (Wigan away for example) would get the same points as MOTM in (say) the semi against United. That can't be right surely?

If 300 of our members suddenly decide to vote next week , and Castillo plays a blinder , and gets their vote , he will then be our ' voted ' player of the season .

Take your point Taxi but that's not going to happen, unless maybe it was on May 30th and he scored the winner after a stellar performance (in which case you could argue he deserves player of the season as his contribution [to the season] would be remembered long after everyone elses).

Ultimately, this year, the winner will be the person whose name has been clicked most often by TT members.....so if we get a joke result we only have ourselves to blame :) .
