Jack Rodwell

Recommended Posts

James McCarthy is a good shout but id say he would cost a few quid prob mooted at £10 mill which is alot for an unproven player.. Id say you could get Manny Fernandes for a decent price and no doubt will would be linked with Mourtinho!!

Rodwell is unproven and people are talking about £20m plus for him. I'd let Rodwell go and Fellaini if the price is right and rebuild, we've gone stale this season and we need some fresh blood up front and out wide. Rodwell was typically useless again at the weekend, he may 'look' good but at the moment, that's about it.

I agree with you, which is why im all for selling him if its big money, theres no point letting him go for peanuts though. Felli on the other hand shouldnt be sold at all and he is the one we should be basing the team around.

Yeah theres something not right at the moment, i havent seen him play well, i mean a full game for as long as i can remember, still all the media love linking him with the big boys.. I personally would sell .. Imagine we dont, he turns out shite, well then we will look back at it and say oppurtunity missed .. Flipside he turns out world class, well unfortunately he wont stay with us forever so why not take the money when it comes along, he is knowhere near a first 11 starter when we have a full squad to choose from.

I just feel (even though he is young) his awareness and lack of positional play, costs us in attacks against us sometime, i see him 5 yards away from the ball and think, right thats jacks, but for some reason he doesnt react and the opposition pick it up... He can play some nice balls, but i think he plays some really bad balls too ..

Sorry for knocking him so much, because he is still young .. But personally i would sell in the summer.

Diaby and Fellaini would be some central midfield partnership!

I rate Diaby highly - if we tie felli down and that money is spent on width and strikers then I'd reluctantly take that and hope Rodwell makes as much impact as Jeffers at arse!!!

Doubt it... Have a look at Man City's young Italian talent "Gudetti" something ... fantasticly talented goalscorer, but isn't getting playing time 4 obvious (money-talking) reasons. I'd b glad if we could sign him.

Hi guys, Preston north End fan just signed up here, we have heard a rumour Rodwell is coming to Deepdale on a season long loan. Has anyone heard anmything of the same.

My opinion is hes far too good for the championship...anyone heard owt

cheers

Pete

Manchester City are set to gazump neighbours United for Everton midfielder Jack Rodwell.

Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini admits he needs to improve his squad for City’s first foray into the Champions League next season and is understood to be considering an offer for £20million-rated Rodwell as soon as the season is over.

England Under-21 star Rodwell has been a long-term target of Sir Alex Ferguson’s, but City could tempt Everton with a cash-plus-player deal.

Everton boss David Moyes is keen on taking either Emmanuel Adebayor or Craig Bellamy, who will both return to City this summer after loan spells at Real Madrid and Cardiff respectively.

Moyes also rates James Milner, who has not been a regular at Eastlands since his move from Aston Villa

I'd happily take Adebayor or Milner plus a few mill!!

Straight swap for Jo?

I would be very pleased if Johnson was part of any deal, very pleased indeed.

Johnson and Milner happily (jf they would take the wage cut) but again, only if Felli signs

Adebayor will never come here.

Why the hell not he went to shitty Real Madrid didnt he and were better and bigger than them! Ok back to reality and id say its more likely to be SWP and a fiver isnt it!

i really dont want him to go, i know we need the cash, but im still pissed we had to sell Rooney. OK jack isnt as good as him but he is still a very good talent. If he wasnt such a talent fergie would not be willing to spend that sort of cash on him.

Wouldn't be suprised, but if we got a fair wack for him, i wouldn't be too bothered if im honest.

Agree here, but we should except anything less than £25m, but we can count on Bill to get us the deal of the season

well lets hope its sooner rather than later, so Moyes can get some of it and spend it, before any targets we have go elsewhere, which is what usually happens

See this is the issue. You know that we're going to hold out for the best possible deal, which is fair enough but at the end of the day, it'll only mirror what happened during the Lescott fiasco and finalise too late in the window. If they come in with a bid of around £25m, we should take it straight away, thats plenty to get 2/3 very good players from around the continent, plus give us room to barter!?

yeah, it is my main worry tbh, i have no doubt we will get the money for him, but WHEN though? will it be in enough time to bring in the faces we want to? or will we be looking at the dregs end, like the Owens and such, because others have already gone and signed for another club

Give us Berbatov in a straight swap and id be happy with that. 20 goals in one season? Yes please

No chance, berbatov isn't worth much more than £10m. One more year of his contract left and in the last 3 years of playing time. Add to that his lack of workrate and it's a waste of a young resource yet to realise potential. Jack needs a good under 21 champs, full Pre season, remain fit and we will see a sharper improved player.

Add all the talk last season of his impending move to man ure and it's likely his head may not have been on it. Want to see him having more cracks at goal this season.

Im shocked that BK had been able to agree a 28m pound deal altho it wouldve more than likely been dependant on all sorts of silly crap and them winning the World cup or something as ridiculous.
