Turner OR Bassong - 6 Mil

Elm - 3.5 Mil

Ledley - 4 Mil

A decent enough wing back - 2.5 - 5 Mil

And then maybe a CM/DMC on loan in case of freak injuries.

Just 3? We need more than that!

Ledley: £3.5m - LM, cover at CM

Elm: £3.5m - RM/LM, cover at CM

Mattock: £3m - LB cover

Turner: £6m - CB until Jags is fit, fittingly also a major threat from corners. Personally I think he's more solid than Yobo.

Hoyte: £3.5m - Better than Hibbert, can attack, definite improvement on the right.

Total is £19.5m

Personally I think that's how we should spend the money, I think none of us would object to having any of those players on the pitch for Everton. Some may not be improvements (eg. Turner) but it facilitates money being spent elsewhere where it's need.

This give us a fit match day team of:

----------------------------- Howard ------------------------------

HOYTE ------------- Jags ------ Yobo/TURNER ------- Baines

ELM/Osman -------- Neville ---- Arteta ----------- Pienaar

------------------------------------- Cahill -------------------------

---------------------- The Yak --------------------------------------

Bench: Nash, MATTOCK, LEDLEY, Osman/ELM, TURNER/Yobo, Saha, Rodwell/Fellaini

Obviously because there's no chance all of those players will be fit at the same time, people like Jo, Gosling, Hibbert, Fellaini/Rodwell etc. will be on the bench too.

Very versatile squad you have there.

Nice shout!! As you said, i as a Everton fan wouldnt be peeved if that was our summer spending, at least we would be productive,! Would fill out the squad (help with European games), with young (bags of potential for the future), reliable (most have been tried and tested in the prem and if not, they are proven internationals i.e Ledley and Elm), affordable (5 decent players for the price of one?) talent! :)

I like Hoyte, im suprised as to why we havent dipped our toe in there to be honest?

My 3 (if i was only allowed three) would be:

1. Joaquin - £8m (can play left wing or right, proven international)

2. Hoyte - £3.5m + Vic on loan (Young English player, whos potential was seen early by Wenger and left for the right reasons. is quick and can cross)

3. Bassong £8m (Quality player in a struggling side, was one of the most consistant performers of last year. athletic, quick, can head, reads the game well)

Just being prepared Mike, £1 mill kept back in case of another Naughton affair. Always thinking ahead.

Mattock: £3m - LB cover

Excuse my ignorance but who is he?

Joe Mattock, Leicester's young left-back. He's Leicester's and the U-21's regular LB at 19. Great, great prospect.

I think we will need more then three so i'll be greedy and buy more :P

Joe Mattock LB/LW: Around £3m, Great prospect and under Moyes could become a big player in a few seasons time.

Michael Kightly RW: Around £7/8m, I would have liked us to have snapped him up before Wolves where promoted as im not sure they would let him go at this moment but i'll add him anyway, Great young player with plenty of pace and skill.

Sean St Ledger CD/RB: Around £6m, Good all round defender and can also play at RB in my book one of the safest bets to being able of making the step up from the Championship.

Justin Hoyte RB: Around £3/4m, Young quick and likes to get forward and can also whip in a decent ball.

Loans

Victor Obinna RW/AM: I would like us to try for him again i think the lads got great potential but just needs regular games under his belt and would benefit from working under Moyes.

Rodrigo Possebon CM: Good prospect currently at United where he surely wont get much if any playing time this coming season and Fergie will be keen to loan the youngster out again, Good on the ball Tall and strong and has a good pass on him.

And possibly another defender on loan but at the mo can't think of any that would be decent and available on loan?

---------------------------Howard

Hoyte------------Jagielka------St Ledger-------------Baines

------------------------Fellaini/Neville

Kightly------------------Arteta---------------------Pienaar

-------------------Obinna/Cahill

-----------------------------------Yakubu/Jo

Mattock needs to be bought. I have been watching him in the euro's and i think 3 million could get him. Quite like that russian lad at chelsea who can play centre back or right back( his name escapes me) aswell as Elia.

I would be gutted if we spent that much money and only got a team like that out of it, if lescotts going we should get richards and a quality midfielder ( I would love veloso here ), with like senderos and maybe elm.

...............HOWARD................

RICHARDS--JAGS-------SENDEROS--BAINES

---------VELOSO------FELLAINI--------

-----CAHILL----ARTETA----PIENAAR-----

---------------YAKUBU----------------

NASH,NEVILLE,YOBO,RODWELL,JO,SAHA,OSMAN

Solid team and easily got for 20 million and the sale of Lescott.

And still be left with a threadbare squad?

What we need right now is numbers, we're in 4 competitons and we need/want to do well in all of them. We need numbers. And quality numbers.

That means next year we don't need to reinforce or sell. We can spend the entire balance of our budget on a quality player.

numbers isnt going to get you a uefa cup slot next season, we need quality in, I know we do also need a few squad players but what we need is a quality first 11 to play our important games.

We already have a quality 11. We've finished 5th twice in a row, a 6th place before that. We have the quality we need. We need good numbers in, players who can improve and eventually become starters, to help us through our fixture congestion.

Van der Vaart could be an option if we get the lescott money and brought in Senderos, he is looking to leave and with only hamburg showing interest maybe we could just have a chance of getting him.

Van der Vaart wages alone would rock the boat with other players, personally I think Drenthe would be a good signing allowing Pienaar to switch right.

Maybe belongs in a new thread. But, with talk of Van der Vaart...would y'all rather see him here or Moutinho?

I'd prefer Van Der Vaart .. They're both great players but I feel like VdV would adapt quicker to the English game and the UK.

Other than that, I'd have Defour ahead of both of them (yes I still have hope ;) ).

Wes Brown - £7M - Experienced and Versatile. Would be 1st choice right back but can cover CB

Huth - £2M (as quoted) - Man Mountain old school defender

Bentley £11M - More natural width and ability to score goals such as the one vs Arsenal

I think we need to spend our money on 4 or 5 decent players that will be pushing for places in our first team & a starting right back

The first eleven are good enough at the moment to achive a top 6 finish... just like last season..... Im just worried about the number of games......

No offence mate but hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahh not a f@@king chance, we can't even sign a guy from Sheff Utd let alone one of the best teams in the world. I'd like Huntelaar here but it won't happen

I agree with DMouse on this, Moyes has already said he's happy with his 1st 11 and he is looking for squad players who can give some of the established 1st teamers a rest.

Given that we have £20m my acceptable targets(squad Fillers)would be .........

Stephen Hunt..........£4m

Rasmus Elms.........£4m

Justin Hoyte...........£4m

Senderos or Turner..£8m

Two wide men, a right back, and a centre half who can do us till Jags gets back.

rasmus elm-right midfielder 3-4 million

joe ledley-left midfielder 4-5 million

senderos-centre back 4-5 million

the rest on a top class attacking right full back, i really like darjo srna croatian but think he may cost more than 10m

Desperate times call for desperate measures, but please for the love of mercy not those two!

Since you made your choice (19th post) youve replied 4 times questioning other peeps choices, so i would like to change my choice of players.

Maybe Elm for £3 million, Hangerland for £10 million, schaarner on a free, and a decent battling center midfielder.

Think they should be OK with you. <_<

Van der Vaart or Sneijder would be amazing!

It would never happen though. We dont sign "names".

We are more likely to sign a CB and RB. Booorrrriinnng!

Salaries aside I'm sure 20m is enough to buy either of the Dutch boys or Defour or similiar.

Not sure on who we should buy, but the positions we need to fill are defensive cover, creative midfield general and perhaps another goal scorer, not necessarily an out and out striker.

If possible can we clone Jags, Peter Reid and Andy Gray at their prime? Or will it cost more than 20 million?

Cos they are secret bluenoses and will play for free?

Not even I would do that. I think paying the mortgage on the mansion and putting petrol in the Bentley and other such essentials means that as much as I love Everton I would not be able to play for free either.

That and the fact I can't kick a ball to save my life.

Manny - 10 mil

Rasmus Elm - 6 mil

Miguel - 4 mil

You'd probably need to work your way around some wage issues though, crunch some numbers to be able to add to the wage budget I guess..

Ive got a feeling Miguel, is a distinct possibility and beleive that's one of the signings we will make. I dnt know why, i see it similar to the Valente signing, good solid, international fullback whos club needs some money.

My predictions (not ness wants)

Senderos - £6m

Miguel - £4m

Bentley - £12m...ive got a feeling this could be the one that noone see's.

Bradley - £8m...gone very quiet but can see it happening.

Lescott - out £23m

Desperate times call for desperate measures, but please for the love of mercy not those two!

What is wrong with Hoyte? He is young has good pace and can whip in a decent ball i would say his only downfall is he gets caught out at times when charging forward but Moyes would soon sort that out if he came here. He plays for a shite team with no balance and no consistancy who where leaky last season all over the park.

I would like Hunt here aswell but only as a squad player, He is a Carsley type player combative and a good grafter the type of player you need when your stuck in the shit and your team needs a boost and a kick up the arse and for the money quoted i think we would struggle to find anyone else who is that type of player with his experience of this league.

The talk of Van Der Vaart/Moutinho and co is fantasy and unrealistic, If we bought one top player what happens when he gets injured or flops? We need numbers more then anything.
