The Toffees agreed a fee with Wolverhampton Wanderers – believed to be around £5million – for the centre-half last week, as manager David Moyes looks to bolster his back four.

The player then passed a medical and agreed terms with the Toffees on Friday, yet the Premiership club looked to be stalling on the deal when asking for more time.

However, it is now being reported that Moyes is happy to complete the deal, with Lescott set to officially become an Everton player within the next 24 hours.

Portsmouth keeping taps on Lescott deal and will look at signing him if deal falls through.

Got to be careful now as if Everton dig heals in now got another prem club to maybe go to might just get fed up.

Also Huth is def out question as he has agreed terms with Middlesborough

This will probably force Everton's hand now and we will agree to a deal and bring him in

If there are other clubs waiting in the wings, doesn't this say something about our "medical team". Perhaps we need to source a new medical service?.

Better safe than sorry Mac that would have been the end of moyes if he signed him & it went tits up!

Good point and Fozz would have had more reason to be sceptical.

I think the main sticking point is that he has got a dodgy hair do and the medical team had to go and get a specialist in. Andrew collinge is expected back from his hols soon to sort the matter out.

As a follicaly challenged man I find that both offensive and insensitive. :D

Also...............Lescott is away on holiday.

You can't blame the lad, the stress of not knowing if he will be paid £30k or £20k a week next season must be keeping the poor bugger awake at nights.
